Why would you take the opposing side on this issue? (although the thread is on green house gases)
I like to point out that even if you don't feel bad for the animals abused in farming factories... look at how utterly unhealthy they simply look.. not to mention how unhealthy they actually are. THATS what you are eating when you eat your "beef lo mein" Even as a meat-eater, why would you want to ingest something that looks like it might make you sick if you breathed the same air it was breathing.

My comment is generalized, not directed at anyone.

Wow, this guy took my snarkiness personally and got really mad. I never expected I could do something like that to someone on this board.

Agreed. You are what you eat. I wouldn't go within 50 feet of something that looked that sickly, and yet people think it's OK to eat it.

You seen that video on YouTube where the person pours Coca-Cola onto some raw pork, and worms come out of it? I showed that to a meat eating friend who doesn't understand why I'm a vegetarian and even he was disgusted by it.

Before I turned vegetarian, I would probably catch colds/flu/etc like 3 or 4 times a year. Last year I got sick twice.

It'll be November 2009 in a few days time and I haven't gotten sick AT ALL this year. Not even slightly.

Take into consideration the fact that almost everyone I know has been sick at some point this year, I've personally encountered a bunch of people who had swine flu, a primary school less than a mile from where I live had more swine flu cases than anywhere else in the UK, and I've travelled more than usual this year due to shows, and that says it all. There's no magical solution behind it, it's just that a vegetarian diet is healthier and that's a fact.

I just ate some guy's asshole and it tasted like shit.
He was probably a vegetarian.

For the record, I eat meat (not beef and pork) and I haven't had a cold in 2 years. Does that mean eating meat reduces your chances of getting sick?
Im doing 2 masters degrees so I attend double the amount of classes. And at Michigan (my uni) there are 40k+ students so I am surrounded by sick people...

you just said, you don't eat beef and pork. therefore, you watch your diet to some degree, which means that you are probably careful about what you eat.

this means that you aren't the average joe meat eater that i'm referring to.

i would still bet you'd be healthier if you stopped eating meat. our of every single person that i know who has become vegetarian, whether i have encouraged them or not, every single one has reported that they are healthier for doing so.

don't try and claim this is wrong because the statistics and evidence i have heard and seen for myself do not lie.

I have sex (not gay or straight) and I've never had venereal disease. Does that mean having sex reduces your chances of getting venereal disease?

Look, it all comes down to love. As a part of nature, what we do to nature, we do to ourselves. If you love yourself, you won’t harm yourself. You won’t put harmful things in your body. If you love the sea, you won’t pollute the sea. If you love animals, you won’t kill them. Love doesn’t injure anyone.

Too much love will kill you...
