Why the iPhone will suck.

Ive done some research, pass.

Ill stick with a sidekick and 80gb iPod thanks.

- Touch screen always ends gay.
- You need two hands to operate it, which means no drive and chat...
- But guess what, you cant even chat with two hands, no IM support.
- No MMS support. That's right, the iPhone will have NO FUCKING MMS. Personally, Im addicted to MMSing photos around, so this is fucking homo in my opinion.

Homo. Fuck you Eric.

My life is on my sidekick, I talk on it, chat on it, post on here on it, browse the web on it, and most importantly I type on it. I type all of my lyrics on my sidekick and drop them in the studio, fuck a pen and a pad. Typing on the iPhone looks awkward index finger touch screen type shit. Pass. No MMS to send weed/sex/drunk/funny photos to friends? PASS PASS PASS!

Touch Screen = Grease Kingdom. At least have an alternate option, how hard would it be to be some keypads there, seriously.

No IM support? No MMS? LMAO.

Not to mention No third party support, so it's basically gonna be limited to what comes with it.

Rukas, in a previous thread of mine I noticed you said something about if the keyboard was fast, you'd be sold. I am in that same boat. Nevertheless, your research isn't entirely accurate. I'm not knocking you, I'm glad you bring it up actually.

It has IM support. I'm assuming you aren't familiar with the Mac OS. iChat is IM. And from what I understand, the iChat feature is virtually a replica of the OS X version--meaning you can do video conferencing via IM window. Other than that, I can't give you much else info on iChat. I know it supports AIM and probably the other clients as well, I just don't use it.

I'm not sure how the software on the Sidekick runs on whatever company has the Sidekick in Australia, but in the US, the sidekick does not have MMS. T-Mobile disables the MMS function Hiptop has on it so that they'll be more inclined to send photos and other media via the e-mail client (T-Mobile has an e-mail service specifically for Sidekicks, called tmail). I have heard of other services like Fido in Canada that enable the MMS feature and I see yours does as well.

I bring this up for a reason. In essence, just as the Sidekick (US Version) uses e-mail, the iPhone uses the mail client to send and receive photos. It's a back door method of using MMS. Technically, the iPhone does support MMS. So as an example, if you were to send a picture to someones phone from the Mail application on the iPhone, the address would be (thenumber)@serviceprovider.com. I learned this trick when I had my sidekick because it was the same issue. It's actually a better method because you're not paying for the MMS service.

I'm not sure what you mean by the touch screen ends gay? Militant, I think most people feel that way about touch screens before they get them, but it's undeniable that it's going to be integrated into more cell phones. I have a touch screen and I don't have a problem with dirtiness. Although, it will require wiping off every once in awhile.

You CAN operate it with one hand. It depends on the operation.

PS: Rahim. WTF? You're retarded. 1000.00? No.

One more thing. As you know, I had the sidekick. My ONLY beef with the sidekick is the outdated software. It's years behind in technology. It should have WiFi and it should be open source. It should allow you to download from the internet. It's ease of use makes it the best IM phone out, hands down. But like I've said before, its a beginners PDA and does not meet my needs. But daily, I miss the ease of that thing.

I'm all about the ease. Right now I'm driving down the freeway, smoking, cycling beat cds and browsing on my sidekick. I just don't see how I can do that with the iphone's opperational needs.

Ill stay with the sidekick for now, had the iphone come with a dopod type slide out keyboard I'd be there.

See, my problem is that most cellphones screens tend to get greasy even when they're not touchscreen. I probably will end up getting a phone with touchscreen features at some point, so time will tell, but I can imagine it just becoming greasy as hell.

I think it's only in the US that Sidekicks don't have MMS support.

The Amtek U560 just premiered in Japan at a technology conference, and will be out there at the end of the year. Supposedly they have done a deal with an American company as well to take it there in 2008. I think when this phone comes out it will shit on everything. It runs full Windows Vista with a 80GB hard drive. It looks the sickness.

Eric was blowing his load yesterday talking about this phone. I agree with rukas, if u can not one hand it its not useful and if u can not send images then its really garbage.

NOW THAT IS A PHONE!

I hope they come out here with a decent datapack, nothing can beat my Sidekick $30 a month unlimted text, mms, email, data, IM, etc etc etc.

"Amtek has just revealed the latest UMPC to soon be available to consumers - the U560. The U560 has a nice 4.8" (1024x600), which compared to a regular laptop isn't that big, but it works for what it is used for - quick mobile computing on the go."

I think the size fits what it is used for.
