The Internet You vs. The Real You

Just wondering whether people think the way they come across on the board is an accurate reflection of themselves
The internet allows me to think longer before I speak and I can express myself better on paper so in a way it's a more accurate reflection of myself but then again sometimes I'll just say something for the fuck of it.
I'm more prone to let out my frustrations online so sometimes I'm more of an asshole than I really am.

i doubt that but maybe its because nobody here knows how you look like....no? sry
Are you suggesting that I'm so physically repulsive that people who meet me in real life automatically dislike me?

That doesn't make sense. You're either an asshole or not. If you can't see humor in shit-talking on yahoo pool, then you're an asshole that doesn't see humor in shit-talking on yahoo pool. Correct? Honestly, you're too uptight and try to be too mature at times. Perfect example is that you refuse to play if I joke around. If that annoys you, then you seriously have a problem in real life.

that's well said, i agree with it.

i think the biggest difference about myself and my-internet-self is that im much nicer in real life. i hate conflicts so i dodge them whenever i can. if someone were to fuck me over or do something that annoys me i'm likely to not say anything. i'll even play dumb just so i won't have to engage in a negative conversation. i hate it. i never argue, i never talk shit behind people's back, i never tell people to go fuck themselves, i never say "no". i've drove three hours forth and another three hours back to pick up a friend in need for free. i never charge my friends money when i have hash and they don't. at worst, people think i'm okay. i have never given anyone a reason to dislike me and i don't really think anyone do. this is my superpower but also my curse. i am very good at storing stuff inside but i keep hearing that's not healthy for ya lol.

No, he is insinuating it. :p

anyway, back to the topic. I think people may think they are the same as in real life. however, our interaction, physical interaction in real life has a major role in defining our personalities. but, on the internet, we only get to read what anyone writes and using our minds, kind of put a tone to his writing.

for instance, i know skillz in real life. but, when i read his posts on line, it's as if it's a different person. why, because in real life i get to see his every reaction, which results in a different persona than the online one.

I'm the one with the problem? I hope you realize that i'm not the only one that thinks you are annoying as hell sometimes. I'm not trying to diss you, it's not like I hate you. I'm just being honest so maybe you won't come off as such an idiot at times. There's nothing wrong with joking around, but the way you do it can be so annoying. I'm not the only one that thinks that so you can't say I can't take a joke. If you knew me, you would know that I can take a joke just as often as I throw them out. I am a mature type dude, but I joke around just as much. As far as problems in "real life", don't even come at me with that. You wouldn't know.

Well, I understand that not everything that comes out of my mouth is hiliarous. Some things are meant to be serious and some things are just me joking around. When I joke around, I don't intend to make people laugh, I intend to make ME have a good time. That's what lots of people misinterpret about me, I believe. But, if the way I joke around is annoying, then, too bad. As for you, there's not any thing I said or did, either on Y! pool or on aim, that you haven't tried to bring down and criticize me for. You obviously have something against me, don't try to say you don't. It's very possible for me to be annoying to other people, maybe because they're not used to a person like me, they're having a bad day, or just don't like a person's personality like mine. That is perfectly fine. But, I'm pretty sure that if you name the people that are annoyed by me, I can tell you exactly why. When I said you have a problem in real life, I meant that if I annoy you, I can only imagine how everything else annoys you.

:(

No, it's not :D

But like someone else said, I can express myself better on here. Sometimes I think I might be better of as a mute, then I could use one of them computer-to-voice dealies Hawkins has. Plus I'd seem more mysterious.

Like I said, it isn't that I have anything against you. I don't think you're a bad dude, you can just be really annoying. I'm sure the other people think the same thing. I doubt they hate you. There's a slight difference between being annoyed online and being annoyed in person. Not much of a difference, cause being annoyed is being annoyed, period. But i'm saying, there's a big difference between being mad and being annoyed. I don't get mad easy, I can get annoyed easy.
