The amazing thing to me is that the tupac story has yet to be told. I mean after his death there was like a war in l.a where a whole bunch of blood &crips ended up dead and shit all because of his murder. It seems like Daz gave a lot of insight into how pac was. But nobody really knows how deep in the game he really was. People like " fatal hussein, and nigas like daz dillenger and even suge knight seem to drop little bits and pieces of who he was. Maybe some shit is best left unsaid. But for all these cats doing documetrys they need to fukk wit people like treyvon and the cats that he was actually mashing wit and for.
You listen to songs like ballad of a dead solja and troublesome you got the idea that pac was a magor playa in the L.A gang seen. He seemed he kept his outlaws real close maybe he was just a outlaw though who knows.

When did Daz say that? Regardless, that's a good point to bring up. Pac obviously was never a Crip, but it's pretty evident that he had strong ties with some of them in his earlier days. Some members of Thug Life and their entourage were said to be Crips (Big Syke is an Imperial Village Crip, from what I remember), plus Pac wore a lot of blue at the time, and so did a lot of people in his crew. (Sure, wearing a color doesn't necessarily symbolize membership, but it can sometimes denote affiliation or a connection of some sort.) But then after he joined Death Row and started hanging out with Suge, he's wearing some prominent red articles of clothing in most videos and photo shoots, more so than before.
yeah he said that shit in some interview i checked out once. he was ramblin like he always does and makin up the shit. (cant justswitch from bein a crip to bein a blood lol)
Regardless, thats true with thug life and all rated & syke bein crips far as i know and shit but with death row also you have to look at him bein down, shoutin, doin videos, etc goin places with, dpg, snoop. all of them. and like I think Frank said in one of his books, that Pac put blue rags when hangin round bunch of bloods and put on red when with crips.

Haha, that's so true, Daz is known to make shit up... i.e., claiming Suge had kidnapped Kurupt (days before it was made public that Kurupt re-joined Death Row), claiming to have enlisted in the U.S. Army (around the time when the 9/11 attacks occurred), not to mention all the obvious bullshit he was spouting off on that radio interview on that Street Science radio show when he called in to badmouth Eazy-E.

That's true that Pac was barely involved, but there are things that you can't look past. It would be ignorant to say that he had no ties with them beyond acquaintance. I never intended to say that he was putting in work for certain gangs on a street level, but he was representing certain groups on the low throughout his career, in my opinion. During the Thug Life era, he wasn't spraypainting "Crips" on walls, but he had a couple of them in his group and wore blue pretty often. During the Death Row era, he wasn't a Blood, but gave shout-outs to M.O.B. on countless songs (and it's pretty clear when he's referring to the Blood terminology and when he's referring to "Money Over Bitches"), got the M.O.B. tattoo on his right tricep, wore the M.O.B. ring (identical to Suge's and Danny Boy's), wore red pretty often (especially the red L.A. Dodgers hat in the video for To Live & Die in L.A. when the hat is normally sold in blue), showed certain Blood neighborhoods (specifically Leuders Park, Suge's hood) in the video for To Live & Die in L.A., mentioned alleged Bloods (who weren't involved with Death Row musically) in the lyrics for To Live & Die in L.A. It's difficult to say that Pac wasn't down with that particular gang. And all of these things are just based on music; we hardly know anything about what ties he made with them outside of studio sessions and video shoots.
I'm not trying to turn this into another "Pac was a Blood" thread (since he wasn't), but there are just some things that have to be mentioned when it comes to topics as such, which leads us back to why Pac would've felt so compelled to back up Travon Lane the way he did that night. At least in my opinion, based on numerous objective reasons.

I think what's being overlooked here is Tupac's loyalty. I don't believe that Tupac had any affiliation with gangs except in regard to the fact that many of his friends at Death Row were members of the Bloods. However, their Blood-affiliation is mostly irrelevant. We have to remember that Tupac was fiercely loyal in almost everything he did. When it came to his fans, songwriting, albums, labels, friends...et cetera. He even went so far as to attack other rappers and celebrities that he felt were being disloyal to their own people. For example, going at Eddie Murphy for not contributing money to help his people - not giving money to the ghetto and relentlessly attacking people he felt had been disloyal to him - Puffy, Biggie - and those that affiliated with them, even to minor extents - Nas, Chino XL, Mob Deep, et cetera. So what I'm saying is that it didn't really matter that many of Tupac's entourage were Bloods, only that they were his friends. Furthermore, as we all know, his ego was very much out of control at this time and it didn't matter to him that Orlando was a well known gangster. Even though he knew in his heart that he wasn't invincible and could be touched, he often didn't let this knowledge influence some of the self-destructive decisions that he made. I think that Tupac would have done the same exact thing had none of his affiliates been gang members. They were his friends and he was deeply loyal to them. To go even further, Tupac had always been somewhat of a loner and the fact that Deathrow provided him with a family-like atmosphere made him see past all the controversy of which he should have been very critical. He also felt somewhat indebted to Death Row for getting him out of prison. Some of this comes out in his lyrics - "Destination Death Row, finally found a home." I also agree that Tupac was very pumped up after the Tyson fight and that definately played an integral role in his decision to go after Orlando. This rush of adrenaline, the comfort in knowing that many of his friends were gang-affiliated and his out of control ego that had been cultivated by the Makaveli persona (created for the Bad Boy beef) to instill fear in those who would oppose him all intertwined to cloud his judgment. It is also interesting to note that after the fight, knowing full well that he had just attacked a well known gangster in public, his main fear was not retaliation from Orlando, (which would seem more troublesome) but the fear of going back to jail for violation his probation.

I thought Orlando didnt have any tickets to see the fight. At least thats what the investigators say... 
But what I dont understand is why did Suge's homeboy point Orlando Anderson out to 2pac instead of Suge or any of the other nameless niggaz wit them. Why would that real gangster tell this multi-platinum celebrity rapper whose on probation and aint even really a gangster to handle his gangsta business? Orlando was by himself - why couldnt this Trevon nigga just step to him himself? Why take advantage of Pac's arrogance like that knowing that he's the major asset to the company and he's got a lot to lose?

They didnt carry guns cuz they were rollin' 50 deep. There was no need for guns cuz the deathrow crew had a reputation and generally people knew not to fuck with them. Plus Vegas was ready for the gangs at the fight and most the guns Deathrow handled were illegal with no permits, Vegas are strict on that shit!! Trust me they were not expecting to get retaliation that night, but for added protection Suge tells 'Pac to ride with him just so he can keep an eye on him after the scuffle. Suge was feared then, he must of been shocked when he saw them bullets come towards him -. Who the fuck was Frank Alexander to the "crips"? He was just another bodyguard. I dont think people realise how feared Suge was up until that moment. It was only in the past years since 'PAcs death that people started to revolt against his power and ultimately took him down.

He hears some 2 dollar crip is rollin' in the lobby so he flips and takes the chance to beat him down. Buyaka death row/bodyguards had meetin with vegas heads the day of the fight and they made clear that None of em could carry their guns (or some shit like this)
