Nobody visits the Street corner for anything other than new Eminem or other shitty stuff and this is important.
I'm not sure if you guys are still following proper hip-hop releases. Personally I was really amazed when I found out how many awesome albums are coming out now, or are soon to come out.

Here are some:

http://www.undergroundhiphop.com/Oddisee-Rock-Creek-Park-Audio-CD/MMG018CD/
http://www.undergroundhiphop.com/Bronze-Nazareth-School-For-The-Blindman-Audio-CD/IHI043CD/
http://www.undergroundhiphop.com/Evidence-Cats-Dogs-Audio-CD/RSEEVCADCD/
http://www.undergroundhiphop.com/Cormega-Raw-Forever-Audio-CD/TEG895022CD/
http://www.undergroundhiphop.com/9th-Wonder-The-Wonder-Years-Audio-CD/AE333436CD/
http://www.undergroundhiphop.com/Exile-4-Track-Mind-Audio-CD/SSD184CD/
http://www.undergroundhiphop.com/Roots-Manuva-4everevolution-Audio-CD/BN190CD/

After the Smif n Wessun & Pete Rock album, Wu-Tang's Legendary weapons and Hassan Mackey and Apollo Brown's albums and all of these above coming out I think this year is very good indeed.

Just.. fuck! I feel like a child waiting for Christmas.

A snippet of true awesomeness:

If this would be my christmas gift....then, well, screw christmas.
Tasteless bastard, blasphemy!

On a serious note..well, if someone got me those and Battlefield 3 it would be enough to make me happy. For quite a long time. I think those albums will be awesome. And so will be Battlefield 3.

This place used to have so many more people who could appreciate the art :p

When a new Bronze Nazareth album comes out, then a new Timbo King and people don't even care.. I am disappoint son.

I remember the days when people would get a hard on after hearing about a new Bronze Nazareth album alone :(

I have always wondered if there was a forum for underground hip hop downloads. There was a thread on a forum I frequent, but it has slowly died out. Otherwise, there were 10+ new albums, daily, of new artists.

Gonna take a look at your links to see if they have any.

those people exist. if you care enough, ask linx to see what forums he frequents.

me, personally, I've transcended the underground/commercial divide. dope music is dope music.

Missed this somehow. Send some my way, either on FB or on here. Like I said, the thread I went to to get all this stuff has since died.

I also never post in the music section of this site. Until last night. So, I'll try and change that.

@Sofi: I often find topics on new "underground" music while Googling for music (though it's beyond me how can anyone call Bronze Nazareth, Timbo King or Cormega "underground" :p to me they are the essence of hip-hop, far from being underground), it's just that all of these people who used to listen to that type of music used to post here quite a lot in the past. Now there's probably none of them left.

@Coonie - I am not always up to date with album releases. I check from time to time if there's anything worth listening to and actually it's usually more of a good surprise to me. If there's something that I find really good I usually post in the street section, usually without getting a single response :p

What's holding me back is that the rap music industry is so saturated thanks to this digital era with artists pushing out so much material that I don't even have time to listen to it all (all, as in, artists I genuinely want to listen to without masta telling me about them), let alone memorize a lyric or two in the process.

In this "digital" era, where music is pushed out en mass by artists, there are also digital means for listening to it. No longer are you tied down by your bulky boombox or your computer. You have your phone, iPod, and streaming services that put it all at your fingertips.

The digital music movement is right alongside the means of distribution. The movement is moving. You either move with it or it's moving without you.

Name the song I quoted.

I don't know, but it's a Dipset song for sure.

But in regards to what you said, that's all irrelevant because I still have only 24 hours in a day.

Bronze Nazareth is great. I don't really feel inclined to comment about music any longer though. I can't be arsed with discussion. I peep these threads, listen to the music and enjoy / don't enjoy.
