I think there will be loads of problems with it - give it a couple of months!
Why do assume there'll be problems with it, or at least more problems than any other new gadget? From the sound of things, it all look pretty slick when Jobs was demoing it.

Amazing... especially if the animation for something as simple as that screen saver is c.g.i-like (or whatever you call it)..

It's not a screen saver, I'm quite sure of it. That is just a background for Mac OS X. The phone is just locked.

I think there is too many functions on the phone for it to work properly - i predict that there will be problems with software.

Also as there is no 3G - downloads will be very slow. For $600 you want better than that.

The beauty of running OS X on it is that it runs smoothly to begin with and if there are any problems, they could just release an update to fix it. The phone would prompt you to update your software and it'll all be done in the background. The only thing "new" or "untested" is the touchscreen. I won't count the proximity sensor because that's nothing new. So, it's a $500 plus bet on the screen for you and it's a bet worth millions of dollars for Apple. I doubt they are going to fuck this multi-touch thing up, because we will start seeing this technology in other Apple products gurantee.

They didn't go with 3G because most of the targeted consumers wouldn't know the difference. But it's almost for sure, from looking at Cingular's efforts to expand their 3G network, and reading the rumors that 3G iPhone will show up. They would have to if they're trying to move into Europe and Asia as well.

There's not that big of a noticable difference to the first-come targeted market. Cingular has no 3G phones that I'm aware of, so it was Apple's choice to go with Cingular. Cingular gave them the freedom to make whatever phone they wanted and they went with 2G because it's more accepted universally. It doesn't really even matter because it has wifi. It's gotten to a point where the actual phone service has become a backdrop to wifi. Just about anywhere I walk in the city I pick up wifis constantly. I download at speeds faster than wifi and I stay connected to the net and messaging clients while online. In essence, it's basically the same idea as 3G.

The UI reminds me of Vista. For how "innovative" Apple is they sure get into lots of trouble for where they get their shit from, ie. Creative for the iPod.

You do realize OS X was out way before Vista, right? If anything Vista has copied a lot what OS X does. All those widgets they have...

Did anybody realize that the camera is only 2megapixels?

ONLY FUCKING 2
Most phone on the US market at best are generally 1.3 MP. Agreed it's not the best, but it's a step up especially for PDA's.

Windows gadgets = OSX Widgets
Windows Aero UI = OSX Aqua UI
Windows Vista Search = OSX Spotlight
Windows Vista Icons = OSX Icons
and more.. and more... and more...

It's just ridiculous.
