The new (and if by new you mean the ones that are on sale as we speak) Imprezas are UGLY. They're not bad cars, they should be pretty reliable, but I just can't get over how disgusting the front end looks, not to mention the riced-out taillights that they added. But that aside, it's a very good dailly driver and should be quite affordable to operate to most drivers.

^ ya the 2.5i is 25 gz i think with 178 horses. Thats pretty decent and should kick some bitch as hondas' asses. I dont think it looks that bad tho. I like it. I like the 2005s better tho. I just dont like how the nose is long, but id spend money on it if it fits my 6'2 height.

Impreza's are ugly. But being a Mitzi driver you should know all about ugly. ;)

Impreza's are quality motors, I never had a problem. The thing was rapid and reliable. But chavvy and ugly as fuck, hence why I sold it.

soryr man, i dislike asian cars (except for Subarus) with a passion, therefore, im gonna have to disagree with u. Germany's shits where its at. Those new Imprezas are smaller too tho arent they? i saw one today and i was kinda surprised at its size.

German cars are also a lot more expensive. I'd take an Audi RS4 or BMW M5 or Mercedes-Benz CLS63 any day over my car or any car mentioned in this thread, but I don't have $90,000. So Japan wins my money.

GTIs arent slacking. What would u get then?
Compared to what? I test drove a DSG-equipped GTI before. It's not a bad car, it's good-looking, quick and fun, but definitely not the car I'd pick with a $30k budget... maybe with $20k-$25k

^ what?

I test drove the 6-speed one, and i had a blast. I really want it, but like u said, the price kinda makes me look for something else.
