Sarcasm

#1
Am I the only person who can deal with it? and what's peoples problem with it ...

I mean like, I like using sarcasm and don't mind people being sarcastic back, I tend to think of it more as satire or parody, anyway, rather than sarcasm. Like in TV shows.

But to some people I'd use satire and they'd take it as an insult, and think I had broke some moral code - when I had actually meant it in an informal context, and was being perfectly honest with them.

Am I too witty for some people that it just pisses them off, and thats why they don't like it? I don't know, maybe there is nothing I like more than outwitting someone who uses sarcasm with intent to insult.

What do you guys/girls think?

haha i'm always being sarcastic. its can be kinda bad.

what i like most is i can get away with being an asshole to the boss, when i really mean it, just gotta use my fake "sarcasm voice".

but anyways sarcasm doesnt really bother me, cant say i feel insulted by it, and if i do its usually a couple seconds before its detected, afterwards i really dont care...

Erm....what?

I understand if people ask questions like "am i the only one who likes having sex with a 250 pounds woman?" but the question you asked is...stupid.

The 'question' I asked was rhetoric, bombast, and wasn't an invitation for sarcasm.

My post simply asks for peoples views/perspective on the use of sarcasm.

Sarcasm can be used as a way to insult someone. It's basically calling the person you are sarcastic to as being stupid. Just because one person or a few people think something is funny, the person your being sarcastic to might not, and that person will naturally feel bad if it's something they don't like to hear, and if that person feels bad, they are insulted, insulted by what? Your sarcasm.

It really all depends on what the subject is and who the person is. Some people that argue and try to be sarcastic at the same time can be extremely fucking annoying. Other people who joke around and act sarcastic can be funny.

I'm always sarcastic. I can rarely be serious... even when I try to be serious, I automaticly go back to being sarcastic.

Rahim got it right. You have to be careful about what you're being sarcastic about. For instance, if you're obviously smarter than the other person and they know it, they will not take kindly to a sarcastic remark about their intelligence.

This is something I have to watch myself when responding to others here. (See, I've just sarcastically insulted everyone, and then made it right with this aside.)

In my life, there was only 1 person that I hated sarcastic remarks from, why.... I have no clue. He wasn't smarter than me, or better in any way really... He just looked snobby when he did it, like an arrogant goat.

Sarcasm is beautiful. Being a red nosed clown, making fun of something, an attitude or behavior. Hey, look at me, I am stupid. I welcome any emotion from people on the receiving end.

My sarcasm is the same as my sense of humor--it's very dry. It will fly over people's head's a lot but it's okay because it made me laugh and that's all that matters.
