CHEVY IMPALA 1968, convertible, beautiful original import, ultra rare, right-hand drive, superb car, power hood, brakes, steering, windows, now fitted Chevy Rallysport wheels, green, black hood, call/e for more
details, £9,750 ono.

Is this a real import. Seems dodgy to me. A conversion??

Well, i can imagine it's converted. Did Chevrolet bring the Impala to Europe at all back in those days?

But its a beautiful piece of work. If it's not too far away, take the Subi out and have at least a look at it and a poke around.

That's what i'd do anyway

I think its a conversion because Ive tried to find an original down here in Australia and I dont think they came out right hand drive, but Id snap up a conversion anyway. That's pimp.

Yeah I'm tempted. But it's a 4 hour drive each way.

It's been on the market a while. If it didn't sell for a few more months I'd put an offer in. But it is what I'm looking for.

Fuck yeah it is. Can u hook me up with larger pics?

Nah that's the best I found.

If I go look at it, I'll take some. But I need to wait until my parents garage is empty, as that's where I have to keep it. And it's full of crap and my motorbike.

I saw it in an American Cars magazine I've subscribed to. Then I saw it on the website for the mag and copied the pic to imageshack.

Edit - I'll email him for some pics. If he sends some back, I'll let you know.

The Reply to My email

hi darren I've done a really daft thing, I've come to france and forgot my cd of fotos but i may have some here that I sent through to my son by email a while back so he will look tonight; I do have some write ups on its condition etc, which I can send you if you send me you're address. I goes superbly and believe it or not returns about 25 mpg on a run. Its an original factory made car, not a conversion, imported at new into this country; She is in fine original condition, fabulous for the year. Sailed through the mot just before I left. MOT'd till 06-07-06 .regards Nick Matthews

Needs different wheels but otherwise looks very good. So what are you thinking Pitts?

Then over time I want to make it to my taste. I want to recarpet it first. The reupholster. Then I'lll change the layout of the dash slightly.

Also want to fill it with Audio. However I haven't purchased it yet. Or decided if I'm going to. I need to wait a couple of months. But I have the cash.

Well, if I could find one here, I would snap it up straight away. Thing is rare as fuck. It seems in good condition too.

Worst case senario the engine is shot, you could import the parts you needed pretty cheap I would assume though.

Id respray it first, a faded light blue or perhaps a slightly off white with a pearl coat would look nice. Then recarpet it with some THICK maroon carpet or white if you go with the blue body.

Rare? The only thing making this rare is the right hand drive, i have NEVER seen that on an Impala, crazy shit. Nice car though, how much is he asking? By the way, 100 spoke Daytons is a must.

Edit: Forgot your in the UK forget about the rare thing, i would reckon it is pretty damn rare.

All i can say is, if the car is in good shape, GO FOR IT. This is, in essence, what you wanted, Pittsey. Forget all your ranting and raving about G-classes and old Range Rovers, this shit is unique. One of a kind. How many of these would be driving around in the whole UK? Ten perhaps? Not more.

Make your move before someone snatches it up from under your nose :D

I haven't got anywhere to store it at the moment. Hopefully it will still be available when I do.
