Eminem produced LTTG as a marketing ploy,that's why he didn't want to get paid for it, bcuz indirectly, he was promoting g-unit even more(even though they really don't need to be promoted more), and most importantly his producing so he can add producing a 2pac album on his resume. I believe amaru were blind, they said oh shit,hell it's free,it's eminen producing,hell we gonna sell a shitload of these units. That's why they let him fuck up the album as much as he wants and fuck with the vocals and shit. But what they failed to realize was that eminem played them. That was a pretty slick move by em. He seemed all innocent and shit but in the end he fucked amaru.

no shit shurlock its so obvious that even if he didnt get payed directly for makin the album he still gets money in other ways since he is known as a producer of the new TUPAC album.. i mean shit... but if i was gonna say he is a genious id say its because now people dont take pacs good shit for granted... once lttg came out and ppl learned what shitty production really is, they stopped dissing the fuck out of other posthomos albums like until the end of time.... i think by eminem making that album ppl start to realize how important pacs music is and how we shouldnt talk down on the other posthomos albums.. other than that tho i stil think hes a fag, and i really want some one to reproduce that album
I don't know why LTTG ended up being a big let down, even though I still like it more than a lot in here. I definately choose LTTG over things like Nu-Mixx. Matter of a fact, I listened to LTTG the album last night.
I don't get what was with Em on this though. And no, denby, you can't say "maybe Eminem isn't a good enough producer". That's a bullshit excuse. He's produced TONS of songs that are off the fucking chain (Lose Yourself, Loyalty, We As Americans, the whole "Cheers" album by Obie).
But...Eminem just didn't meet expectations on this. After hearing Uppercut on hitemup.com I had high hopes. I love that song and I think the beat is fucking crazy awesome, but I don't know what happened with Em here. Maybe that's when he decided to get off the drugs, or as he says "not doing as much". Maybe he needs to get back on the drugs.

Somehow I doubt Eminem has any need for a resume. It would've raised his profile as a producer though, had it been fire.
But he wanted to do it as a fan & obviously to have a piece of 2Pac's legacy. Also, practice makes perfect and Eminem knows this. Anyways, he fucked up. I think Eminem's production skills are pretty average and in small doses it can be alright.
I'm pretty sure Dre declined the offer for one of/or all these 3 reasons.
1. It would be awkward, considering 2Pac had beef with him.
2. A follow-on of 1., out of respect for 2Pac's wishes.
3. Money. Dre can make a shitload for beats - Afeni would be paying nothing, or peanuts.
I think 1 & 2 are the ones that sealed the deal though. Maybe he knew Eminem wanted to do it.....
