Random thought on War Games... read and reply

Obviously it's odd how War Games acapella leaked but not the full track (or even the beat) of it. After reading the thread about Pac and Nas' confrontation in New York after the VMAs, I was reminded of something from the Tupac Hip-Hop Genius DVD.

The white guy who was a studio engineer for Pac was saying how one day during what ended up becoming the Makaveli sessions, Pac recorded an "entire song" dissing Nas. But after drinking with him in the studio, he told Pac that he thought it was dumb for him to have spent a whole song dissing Nas. The next studio session the following day, Pac told that same studio engineer that he agreed, and had him use the same beat again... and "Friends" was the end result.

Do you guys think that War Games is perhaps the original song on top of the Friends beat? I'm at work so I don't have any of the songs on my computer and I can't really compare it to see if the bpm matches up, but it fits the description, as pretty much the entire intro is a slap in Nas' face along with a good chunk of Pac's verse. Maybe that's why it's only the acapella is floating around by itself, possibly because it wasn't mixed since Pac decided to trash the original song.

Your thoughts?

But he also dissed other guys on this song. From that describtion it seems to me that it was a straight Nas dissing track - "Watch ya mouth's" second verse would fit better that since it was almost all about Nas.
I still think that there's another song with only Nas getting dissed though.

Anyway if the acapella fits "friends" instrumental a mix would be nice.

lol..

anyway, nah, i don't think that's the case. if it were, the friends beat would still be there. it's similar to the makaveli branded acapellas dj vlad got. basically, it comes from someone who were supposed to remix it for some release or other. then it didn't get put out.

Isn't the song he talking about Troublesome?
Haven't listen to either of the tracks in a while, but I think the original version of Friends and Troublesome use the same sample.
Cause on the House of Blues concert he start the song (Troublesome) with a diss to Nas and Mobb Deep, ending with I took this nigga beat, and whipped his ass with his own mutherfuckin beat... or something along those lines...

Have to listen to Troublesome again :?
