Racial / Political Question

#1
So I'm on the Texas Workforce program now. Where they help me find a job. They have this website called "workintexas.com"... This is where my question comes in..

the highlighted "Hispanic/Latino" part... why is it that it FIRST asks if I'm hispanic before going on to other races?

They probably prefer illegal aliens from Mexico because they will be placing you in a hazardous job that pays $12.00 a week. You should say yes, and then mark every other box listed as well.

^I honestly was considering just clicking yes. I mean, whats the worst that could happen.

I just can't help but wonder if that brings up a whole new list of jobs lol

i always wondered why they say "white". if it said "black" instead of "african american" people like jesse jackson would shit a brick. why do things like that never say "caucasion"? i wonder what would happen the next time i have to fill out something like that i picked native american? my grandmother is half cherokee but anyone that i mention too that i am part native american just look at me and laugh. :(

Not to mention it's "insensitive" to say the least, but amongst the "Hispanic/Latino" group are people of so many origins. Spanish and Purtugese blood, south american blood etc.

so theyre wrong on so many things

its a stupid question anyway.

I guess so. That makes them a bunch of dumb dicklicks. WHEN you ask someone their race, then be specific too.

^ You are right. However, I think the ethnicity question shouldn't be on the application anyway. Or it should be a blank where you can right your origin.

What good is the "Other" option? It's as if you left that person out. Most applications have White as the first option. Not everyone is white. So, instead of having a very simple question become very complicated, it should just let the person write down his or her ethnicity. It's that simple. Not really hard to do. The other option is not as good as it may seem.

puff, damn you. i had to edit three times..
