Is it pretty much pointless to get a beemer that has over 80,000 miles on it since there's talks of them having nasty eletrical problems then?

I have some friends who work at dealerships and they say lots of people trade-in their beemers around 70-80k miles.

As long as the car's been maintained well there should be no problem, really. It's not like any other car with such mileage is going to be faultless.

True, getting stuff like that fixed, and especially on a BMW, is going to be expensive. And something *will* go wrong sooner or later.
