my prized possession is the makaveli un-remastered 2 disc... cant buy it no more and i got 2, one is shrinkwrapped. its the only one i ever play with cos i got 2 copies, the other vinyls are all shrinkwrapped or shrinkwrapped air tight by myself.
fuck CDs cos they will fuck up in like 50 years, vinyls can last for up to 1000 years or more.

i don't know why everyone thinks this but it's flat out wrong.
allow be to get on my soapbox. the life span of a cd-r is over 100 years (for a quality brand), and the lifetime of a pressed cd is at minimum double that. records have proven not to be the case, if you have ever tried to play one from even the 50's. the degradation is translated to sound that's quite apparent. vinyl records and cd's are both composed of high viscosity plastics. these materials are similar to windows in that they arrear to be solids, but are actually closer to liquids than solids. if you look at an old colonial house that's 200 years old you can see that windows have a triangular shape to them on side profile view. in time, while stored vertically, they sagged. the same happens to records and yes, even cd's. the catch here is that vinyl records are more susceptable to environmental conditions, and there is no flawless way to store them. store a record vertically, in time you get a sag or a warp, store them horizontally, you get pressed in grooves from compound pressure and therefore skips. additionally, vinyl records ara analog, so they can never produce the sound quality of a digital cd. finally, cd players skip with huge and deep scratches that oversampling cannot regulate, but the stylus on a record player picks up dist, hair, and even air flow around the needle and translates these events to sound. i don't know why a lot of people believe it's true, but for these reasons and the thousand more that i could expound upon, vinyl is NEVER better than cd. ...that is, unless you're an old schooler and enjoy the inherent hiss and crackle that provides depth and warmth on vinyl playback.
