Fresh snowfall helped put an accused armed robber’s plans on ice early Wednesday at the Sunshine Foods.

At about 4:30 a.m., a man threatened a store employee while displaying a black pistol. He and another man then walked out with two bottles of Lord Calvert liquor.

Police were able to follow footprints through the snow from the store at 2700 W. 10th St. to a nearby apartment at 2400 W. 9th St.. There they found the liquor and a semi-automatic pistol. Officers arrested two men there fitting the description of the men in the grocery.

Ricky Taz Martinez, 18, faces a first-degree robbery charge. Manuel Joseph Lopez was arrested for misprison of a felon for knowing about the crime but not informing authorities.

almost as stupid as an old friend of mine i use to work with (whos now in jail)

he and a friend went down his road, broke into a skyline stripped it down and then rolled it down the street into his garage, only to be woken by cops the next day who had followed the leaking oil trail from where the car was to where it ended up :D
