Why is it people love to hate....

Usually it's 50 or Aftermath.... But this time it's Ja Rule. There's news of Ja Rule being thrown out of a club, it gets 3 times as many views as any other story and recieves more comments. This isn't just related to rap news either. ;)

What makes people love to hate?

Good question.. I'd say its cause people wanna jump on bandwagons and follow the leader... Everyone was bumpin Jarule back in the day before 50.. then when 50 starts dissin ja, all those people that were playing "Down Ass Chick" and "Holla Holla" all of a sudden aint feeling him.. since 50 was the up and coming next big thing, people just didnt want to be left behind rooting for the "old news"...Which leads to me to believe that all those Ja haters that did like him at one point still bump his shit once inawhile at home, buy/download his new songs, but will never admit it since they might think they'll face ridicule..

But like you said, it doesnt just pertain to Ja/50, or anything music related.. I think most people hate just to fit in or be cool with the enemy or rival of the underdog.. That way it'll increase their chances of ever facing a confrontation..

junk people with no minds of their own so they conform to what ever is popular.
you'll notice that if someone posts a joke and the second poster doesn't like it then the whole thread becoes a hate thread and vice versa.

I think all the posts here are pretty accurate, but in this case and in my eye, Ja has always been a gimp.

Well, its probaby even more wack reporting a story that he got thrown out of a club..

Yeah. Because it would be dumb to post hip-hop news in a hip-hop news section.

No wait... What I meant was... Dick.

Well i don't find him being thrown out of a club newsworthy, this probably happens to every rapper who will enter a club.

Eh..what was the dick comment for?

People follow the way they are shown. Can't think for themselves and can't see their own point of view, so they take what is given to them. One thing I notice is when you give a question and no answers it will get no replies for 2 days until somone gives an answer that seems decent, then you get 2 pages of posts like Yeah I agree blah blah. That's one thing i dont like about this board, people dont discuss hip-hop it always turns into who is right or wrong, my opinion is better shit. Nothing wrong with saying what you like.

Bunch of followers and envious people thats all. If they could defend their point of view with a valid argument then it wouldn't be hating per say, but its the people that can't even articulate the reasons let alone articulate to begin with

You've said the same thing like 10 times already and each time, you make the wrong conclusion. Why does the thread on God's existance get 5+ pages of responses, and a thread on the british electoral system get 0? Do we love to hate God?

People view and respond to threads that they have opinions and background knowledge on. Due to Ja Rule's popularity and increased non-popularity(Due to 50 Cent, you could say), it only makes sense that a large amount of people will wish to know what's going on with Ja Rule. I'd answer your question on why people love to hate if it didn't derive from this Ja rule and thread popularity shit.

^It's not hate, if you are able to articulate a reason for your 'dislike'. Not that you should be negative anyway, but!

Besides you can generally find similar scenarios with ancient peoples, they're the ones who stole alot of ideas from us folk... it's entertainment to the mass public to build up 'superstars' and then bring them down. It's the 'KILL KILL KILL' mentality we had in the Coloseums.

There's some truth to this. We as a whole love to see big people fall. And the bigger they are, the harder they fall.

well put it this way, if people didnt 'hate' or go against or 'rebel' we'd still be drawing stick figures on cave walls, and the world would still be flat, hey i may be reaching, but i also may be drunk....
