WTF Pac's originals sound better than remixes even for today. Yes music change.. who said it changes on better? Plus everybody gotta have his own style. Pac had and they shouldn't try to fit him to suit today's mainstream music which actually sucks. People would like to buy something different. Pac always gave it. His originals have that vibe to make most of people like em. Fuck the fact that they don't fit mainstream. So what? It's even good because Pac was one and only. And don't say.. if he was alive bla bla. You don't know what would happen if he was alive so they should release what he did before he passed in the same form. It's closest to what he wanted. His music always was different than other hip-hop titles and some of his songs were mainstream because he made that mainstream. Now theyre trying to fit Pac to some low end rappers. If Elvis recorded more and now they released his new album would it be remixed to fit nSync for example?
Somehow i understand Afeni. She doesn't know too much about Rap, she just wanna introduce as much rappers and producers to Pac as she can to make his name more famous simply because she underestimates her son. She probably doesn't even know that he would sell by himself even without any guests. She's scared so much that his legacy will end because his music is "old fashioned" that she wanna fit it to make it "new" and she actually destroy his legacy by that. She doesn't understand that. I guess that's the biggest problem and that is my opinion on releasing remixed 2pac albums. Also Amaru does one of biggest mistakes by not relying on 2pac, but relying on some guests like T.I or g-unit. They don't promote his albums by various videos, bunches of singles, radio/tv promotion.. they don't do that because they think that guests are enough to promote the album. They don't know that actually g-unit is what makes people hate 2pac songs. For example i liked loyal to the game song before it got remixed. The same with untouchable. Now i can't listen to it because it makes me feel bad and ashamed. Even when i listen to og's. But Amaru is scared that simple 2pac album, without any guests etc. released as it is without doing anything simply won't sell. I guess it would sell the most. How many people would buy One nation album for example released as it was? I guess maaany. It would sell a good 7x platinum with a small promotion. They don't realise how many people are not buying theyre albums because theyre fucked up. Also that "stupid gunit kid" argument isn't good here because there are more people who won't buy album just because it says "Young buck" on it (gunot>gunit). Amaru is so scared that they album won't sell as it is that they try to do whatever they can, remix a song 100 times, add multiple guests, more famous people etc. actually fucking the album up. And as time passess by they're more scared that people will get bored with Pac so they do it even more. It starts to be they're paranoia so it won't stop. It will only get worse. Only solution is changing the way of thinking, but it probably wont happen. Probably when hip-hop won't be that popular and for example rock will be the most popular again then they'll remix Pac with some mainstream rock stars. The problem will be then that they won't like that because they'll think of 2pac as G-unit, T.I. mainstream hip-hop shit that flopped a while ago. But anyway Amaru won't get off any mainstream seasonal star's dick just because fans say so. They'll do what they think and they'll even make Pac's fans bad people because we criticise them. We criticise Pac so we are bad people because Pac sent her a message and his spirit said that he want's g-unit on his album and we don't wanna buy his albums and boycott them. We are soo evil. yeah, thats exactly how i feel too... sometimes i feel like a mark around my friends when it comes to Pac's music, as opposed to general hip hop fans that may like Pac but arent as a big of a fan. Also, I don't think tupac anticipated everyone to be online downloading the ogz and hearing them before they're released by his mother... As "prophetic" as he was, do you really think he'd expect people to be downloading and bootleggin his stuff on the internet?
If we hadent heard the ogz and if we didnt know so much about how much music he had left behind, we would all be like "wtf, another album? New songs? Is he still alive?

i agree that music changes and new sounds can enhance old recordings, but you have to admit that the direction of the last two albums is a 180 from the og spirit. in my eye that is not necessarily a good thing, especially when compounded with the fact that even if anyone else was rapping on these tracks instead of 2pac i'd still think they were wack.
we don't expect everything to be og, but we do expect that the music isn't diluted and bastardized into some frankenstein song that only gets a play now and again because it's the legendary 2pac.

Some people say keep all the og's the same, some people say remix all of them and put whatever the hot artist at the moment is on the album.It needs to be somewhere in the middle.The truth is that the weakness in 'Pac's music in life and death was the beats(like Nas).Early in his career, it was because he didn't know how to choose beats,Shock G said it himself.Late in his career it was because there wasn't any producers that could keep up with him.After his death it has been a mixture of the fact that a lot of his unreleased songs, were unreleased because the final decision came down to the beats not being up to par.The other part of the problem with his after death music is the poorly remixed versions, done by every one from Death Row's gay ass "Tha Row Hitters", to Scott Storch,Eminem,etc.But, basically my point is that most of these tracks need to be remixed,they just need to be done the right way.I think Swizz Beatz,Eminem,The Neptunes,Timbaland,Dre and all of todays top producers could craft a beat around a 2Pac song.Sometimes they just fuck up.But on the bright side, Em produced "Ghost" "Runnin'" "Uppercut" "Ghetto Gospel" 7 Aurelis produced the dope version of "Thugz Mansion" DJ Quick produced the dope version of "Loyal 2 The Game".On the other hand, there is "Changes" "Troublesome" "Soon As I Come Home" that could remain OG's, but they are the exception not the rule.

Bash me if you want - I truely believe Pac would have eventually colaborated with some of these mainstream artists. Keep in mind Pac WAS mainstream and at the height of it when he died. Amaru is doing a half decent job trying to keep him in that mainstream. I dont recall him ever saying "If I die, dont put me on a track with mainstream artists". I have no idea where people are getting that. I DO however recall him CLEARLY saying that he can't get mad at Puffy and them for being all up in their videos with shiny suits on because he was changing and that he "might do that one day". I am totally against changing up his words to make yourself look better. I'm not against guest appearances. Forget Picasso...ever hear of the Sistine chapel? They COMPLETELY painted over Michaelangelo's original work to remaster it and make it fresh. Thats all this is and people need to accept it. We can't all get what we want, but we should be thankful we are getting shit PERIOD.
i somewhat agree Dante. I am completely against shit like what Swizz Did on Untouchable as far as it being a Frankenstein track. I"m also against it when they totally place his vocals off beat like in the first verse of Pac's Life. However, thats not the point at hand. The tracks will get a play because it IS the legendary 2Pac and it has some artist that the new generations of fans will notice. But I just dont see the original version of Untouchable or Dumpin or any track for that matter getting any radio airplay period without some adjustment. Thats why they were unreleased to begin with. I'm all in for introducing 2Pac to a newer generation of music fans as long as its done properly.

. They already took out tha OG verses, which were awesome all tha way though.Well we probably wont get to hear another full 2Pac album for 2 more years. That unheard Deathrow stuff they were talking about being on the next album. But what they forgot to say was the next album will be the "Live 2 Tell" Soundtrack, which will probably be only 4 new songs and a greatest hits track listing just like Resurrection was. So we probably wont get another full album until 2008, that's a long time!!!
Good music doesnt get dated... Some of the best music ever made was made back in the 60's & 70's... So why change his stuff? If i was an artist and recorded a bunch of songs fearing death wasnt too far away, i would not be happy if those songs were butchered before they got to see release.. I gaurantee if John Lennon had a bunch of unreleased songs they wouldnt be touched.. Released how he made them...
