online poker, do you?

what are your favorite sites and why? hows the payout?

my favorite poker site is probably http://www.arcticpokerclub.com i like it because i can deposit $50, get a 100% bonus, and withdraw the whole $100 right away if I wanted.

what are some other ones that don't make you play a bazillion hands before cashing out?

don't do it but a lot of my friends do. it's fun but i don't think it's that fun.

then again, i was never a fan of gambling and the likes. i hardly ever play real poker. don't touch slot machines. i hate the idea of losing money on something so stupid.

then again i guess that's why i'll never win a million in a lottery :(

Would anyone be up for a little SH tourny? Might be hard with all the time differences, but i'm an insomniac anyway so not a problem for me...

I used to play on PokerStars.net alottt. I haven't played on it in MONTHS now though. I guess cause I always got shit to do and the person I used to play with alot doesn't come on nearly as often.

I play poker every now and then with mates, but never on the internet... I've never done it before, do you get dealt virtual cards? To me that would be like pressing 'A' to 'roll the dice' on a games console - I'd feel rorted.

I always thought that the human element was what made poker what it is...but as I write this I wonder...because the face to face element isn't there, is there a whole new kinda strategy to it with online poker?

the strategy is somewhat different.

to be a good net poker player i guess you need to be able to do probability calculations in your head. at least rough estimates. instead of looking at a person's face and finding a pattern in their bodily gestures when they play, you just try and track opponents' behaviour. you do lose a lot of the things that make you able to call bluffs and the game becomes more chance-dependant.

i have a friend who keeps himself balanced by playing poker. seriously, he moved to another city under the guise of studies, but what he really does is play both real and online poker. he's done this for about seven months now. obviously you can't go like that forever. i don't know about elsewhere in the world, but net poker has become a HUGE thing here in norway. another friend of mine (who's really a friend of the first friend, i just know of him) purchased a car cash. that he had won from poker. lol. he is a few years younger than me so his mother is taking care of the money for him now.

I have a friend who's addicted to internet poker and has made serious money. He's sort of a math nerd type of person. I don't do it personally.

and Gotti, first you thought that we didn't have sim cards, now you think internet poker is illegal. People who've never been to America seem to know more about its ways than you do man. haha
