New Year's Eve

Oh of course. I'm just giving those people some slack. Some people do use the new year to start fresh. I can start fresh tomorrow. In a few hours. When I'm done typing this post. Which goes back to my post two posts ago. NY's resolutions don't seem to mean shit in the long run. Which is why this holiday needs to die.
I don't know about that. It's a reason to party, nothing wrong with that. I just find new years' resolutions funny.

I don't do the New Years' resolutions, never been my thing but I do think it's a good time to reflect on the past. That being said, nothing wrong about partying. If you want an argument for it, call it tradition. People have been celebrating the coming of the new year (or historically a day to celebrate a Pagan God, etc) for quite some time.

Just go out there and enjoy yourself. Be safe and merry.

Ugh that is the worst.
What.

I think it's important to reminisce about the year that has past. To sit there and think a certain timeframe, 365 days, and to get an idea of what one can accomplish in this time and using this as reference, being the new year, take strides towards improving.

Celebrate all you want, but what does a glass ball have to do with it? What does getting drunk have to do with it? I don't want to sound judgmental, but I am so fuck off, but it seems the ones that go out and make the biggest deal and the loudest noise about the new year are the people that didn't do shit the year before. Or the year before that. Hell, I didn't make any noise about new year's and I didn't do shit with myself this year, either. I'm the worst.

I understand it's a new beginning for all of us, but I think the festivities have gone overboard and those that are getting hammered and popping pills and fucking around, they've just began their "new beginning" feeling like shit and probably up to no good.

Because if this festival was about farmers and their harvest, something has gone horribly wrong that a bunch of unemployed shits are out getting hammered while the farmers in this country (the States) are getting royally fucked in the ass.
For me it's just a chance to be with people I like and yeah drink, but I stopped getting smashed when I was still a teenager. It's all a nice concept.

For some it's an excuse to get drunk/high on a large scale. Each to their own as long as they aren't hurting anybody else.

My night was crazy. All the partying and after partying was good but the highlight of the night wasn't so good. I saw this 20 year old guy, as fucked up as can be, try to jump from the top walkway where you get into the suites to the floor about 40 or 50 down because he wanted to get backstage. He died. He basically dove head first cus he had to clear this little gap to actually get over the wall. So it was like a running dive over the railing and all the way down. It was pretty disgusting. Not the blood or anything but people were cheering him on to try it, his girlfriend was crying and begging him not to do it but he did. It was sad.

That's real sad. Reminds me of a party I was at in September. Some guy climbed onto the roof of a house and everyone was cheering him on to jump from the house to the garage (hoping he'd fail), it would've been hard sober. Needless to say he fell 10 feet and hit his head on some concrete, had to go to the hospital and all that.

I think your story proves my point about people celebrating the wrong way.

The majority of people went out and had a good time. This one idiot has a story that sticks out but fuck it.

This is kind of funny but were you against them partying in the matrix when all the people are dancing all crazy knowing robots were digging down to kill em? People like to have fun, who cares what Is being celebrated they're enjoying life while they have it. Yes, some people fuck it up for others but thats life, its still an experience. So yeah you have a point but its fucking lame.

People are interacting with other humans and enjoying themselves, why are you so against that. I understand that can be accomplished in other ways, like going to church lol, but that's not for everyone just like going out and being foolish while drinking isnt for you. It's their choice to make so respect it and stop judging people cus you get down on different hypes.

It's just annoying how it seems some people are just looking for any reason to drink. Hurricane parties? I used the example of Halloween earlier. Just because "everyone does it" doesn't mean it's excusable.

People are looking for any reason to go out and have a good time. Drinking is just what comes along with it. You must live in this fantasy world where alcohol is socially unacceptable except on holidays. Most people who like to go out and drink and have the time to do it don't give a fuck if it's a holiday or not. They don't need a reason to drink. The good thing about holidays is that it makes the time more enjoyable because more people get together. You can expect people who are too busy to drink with you every weekend to drink with you on a holiday. You can expect them to be less uptight. But it's not like, "OH shit, it's January 3rd, I can't go out and get wasted with ten of my friends." No, it's not that you can't, it's that most likely you can't get those ten people to go out because they have work in the morning or school or some shit.

Even if people are looking for any reason to drink, so what? Lord forbid there's people out there who want to let go of their inhibitions.

We really arguing about people getting together and celebrating holidays? Lol. My night was good. I had some apprehension about going out bc as you all know I'm usually with a group of rejects. It was nice though. It was just a little house party with 15-20 friends and family. I usually go out in a dress, hair done, makeup...the whole 9 but I'm sick so I barely brushed my hair lol. There was one guy that was a little out of control but that was partly my fault. I made him chug a bottle of wine. The best part was I woke up feeling great. No hangover whatsoever.

im more likely to party on a non holiday due to the fact there are people everywhere on holidays. clubs are to crowded, takes to long to get a drink etc.

lol. One sips wine.
Yeah no I get it. The wine was a bribe to get me there. They think I'm bougie bc I moved out of the city. I would have happily drank shitty beer with them tho. I'm not above being bloated and having diarrhea the next day. I can still hold my own in flip cup. So I'm sipping it straight from the bottle with the cork floating around in it bc they tried to open it with a butter knife before I got there...and he chimes in that I'm "babysitting" it. I tell him he's not bad enough to drink the whole bottle. He did.
