more fans ignorant to what is up wouldnt know any better in what way Pac's work is released; theres this misconception around that Pac needs remixes and 21st century star power to appeal to newer audiences however since relative hype on different projects recent years the fans that got in thru the marketing remix bullshit know Pacs work and thru other different sources additionally would buy the record off of name alone
I see with original releases just need to get the clearances. its bad talk about politics of all shit when integrity of ones work should of been preserved to begin w/ can only move forward from point & plan from now progressive
seems they want spend small amount of money for short term record success with these remix albums or the remix albums; & alot of time seems be short term careerers apearing. depending on whos in charge theres probably different goals visions misguided ones ones guided well but i think theres been not same connection with fans lines crossed

Ye dude, i always used to put the pending jail sentence as partial reason. But the main reason for him recording all those tunes werent for getting his finances together. That wasnt his priority. 'Pac knew, once you get the power and respect, the money will follow. And respect is what he wanted most. He felt dis-respected that his old-associates tried to kill him off at a time his name was already dirtied up with the rape case. Imagine if he died that night? These would be the last thoughts the media had about him, that he was a violent thug who raped women. That made 'Pac very angry that these punks came close to doing that. Its very hard for someone to accept that your worthless, and that you should be rid of this world in such a cold-hearted way. Jacked for your jewels and shot like your worthless. This is what sparked that extra venom in him. He werent no chump, and he definitly werent weak enough to be killed without achieving the greatness he was capable of. He came out, re-claimed his respect in the game and made sure if this happened again, then there was enough material to keep his voice beaing heard. He didnt want to just be shut off like that like a light switch. So the pressure he put himself under was immense. Hence the 100's of songs and dedication to the recording studio.
This is'nt something thats new so apologies for staing the obvious, but because 'Pac was a very complex character - there were multiple reasons for his actions during his release from prison. I always concentrated on the reasoning behind his actions without assuming too much.

I dont think it was for just newer audiences, the plot was to move 'Pacs image on away from the darker days that reminded 'Feni the causes of what led him to an early grave. And when his lyrics are all portraying that time of his life because of the era they were recorded of his career, they poured some water on them to soften his image. Most rappers these days are just celebrating there riches and fame. 'Feni wanted 'Pac to be associated with these types of rappers in his forthcoming albums and if you notice, most the added stars are all bubble-gum rappers. She didnt do it from a producers point of view, she did it from a mothers prespective. And i guess this could be the problem most fans have. That she shouldnt of been given control of these albums. But she couldnt hire people she couldnt trust who were associated with 'Pac when he was alive. As far as she was concerned, most of them were snakes and were only sniffing around 'Pac because he gave them exposure and they were associated with the biggest name in the game. People like the Outlawz and Big Syke, they were with 'Pac from the start. They will always be on his albums regardless.
I think like most fans, your frustrated that rap music aint what it used to be. And if you could listen to music that reminded how good it used to be then you'd be happy. But every music genre moves on. Motown, the blues, even pop music. Rap will be no different.

I dont agree Buyaka & i dont neccesarily believe she has as much control as youd think. & guests being "bubblegum"? how many? irregardless the final production shouldnt other than verses not feel like a Pac record
Not sure what you mean w/ the snake coment (& who) it all Could depend but really how the fuck can Pacs judgement to be on a record w/ some one come into question or not even come into question not even consider it but really I dont think it was so blatant like that probably shit like been said before eluded to before probably shit about money or marketing strategy & Afenis hand i dont believe at least as far as the record releases seems like she gets manipulated or has in the past. lot of politics it seems like & even look at Mopre

Thats fair enough, your right she didnt have as much influence on the output of the product but she did have some directional influence. What i meant by snakes was, anyone who was associated with 'Pac during Deathrow. Almost the entire roster. I dont think she trusted most of them because she was unsure of there true intentions. Im just trying to understand where she was coming from. I dont blame her for anything at all, it was her son and her right to push his legacy in the way she felt necessary. Production wise, its down to the individuals chosen to bring his music upto date. If they failed on behalf of the fans then we should open up the booklets, look at the production credits and throw stones at them. I generally feel 70-80% of what was released was pretty fuckin' good. It was'nt true 2pac style, but it was satisfactory.

Pac's Life was a HUGE letdown for me. It falls in the same category as LTTG in my opinion as the production just didnt make the cut. What they (ya'll know who you are) simply did was throw in single 2pac verses and crowd a bunch of featured guests on that LP. Woeful.
And whats up with these featured artists singing about guns, thugs, and all that madness on hooks?? I mean, its like that artist is thinking: "wow!! lemme think of somein Pac would have written.............I know!! "keep a nine till the day that I die"....that must really be thug life wessyde baby!!".
LOL, thats a sign that they dont understand what 2pac's music was about. It cracks me up, genuinely.
The only producer that saved that LP was: ....*drum-roll*: QD3. Who SIMPLY mastered a track and enhanced 2pac's vocals on 'soon as I get home'. Can't that just be done with all other original recordings? Anyone who has chatted or posted on his forum will tell you that he's a great guy. Even when he was getting burned for niggaz nature (rmx) on UTEOT, he was genuinely suprised that some 2pac fans weren't feeling that track.
I've posted enough times that I think Afeni is doing the wrong thing to her son's legacy. After reading the posts on this thread, my opinion hasnt changed one bit.
Even if I'm the only person on the planet, I'd definately pay for a 2pac LP which has the original recordings without even looking at the track list.
