My Dad's a Douche

It's bad when it compromises his responsibilities as a father. I'm not trying to put him. He always went out to the "club" (which is really an exclusive bar, not the kind of club you're thinking of), got shitfaced, and stumbled up the stairs at 2 in the morning. The point now is that he's letting it overrun his life, doing it too often, and he's not being the man he's signed up to be when he said his vows.
I don't need my dad, but my sister does.
I thought I made it clear before that he was ignoring her and the rest of us.
I have no insecurities about being out on my own, I can't wait. If anything, I would miss my mom, not my dad. He's never been there enough for my being gone to make a difference in my everyday life. He never looked after me - my mom did.

My mom makes more money than my dad recently, which is sad. The reason she went back to work after 16 years was because he wasn't making enough. I'm going to college is because I succeeded in school and was able to get enough scholarships and grants to send me there. We're not paying the rest either - we're getting loans. You know what hurts me? Seeing my mom cry in the kicthen because she's not sure if she'll be able to pay the bills.
Fuck all of you who said that this is simply a jealous kid acting out. You had no right to degrade my family's situation like that.
Maybe if my dad was providing liek he should (but recently the checks have been slim because he's been slacking off) and was still there for my mom and sister like he was in the past, it'd be OK. But he's not.

According to AmerikazMost, his dad goes out almost every night. If his dad works, and A. and his sister go to school, they technically almost never see him then.
Getting a phone is fine, but why not get a family plan instead of getting one for himself? When questioned about it, he gave a pretty silly answer.
Getting a tat does not equate to not being a parent anymore, but getting a tat and not telling your wife whom you've been married to 16+ years is just wrong, imo. Why hide it?

fuck,you're lucky he's like that instead of a big old man needing someone to help him wipe his ass or go to the bathroom. he's 55, he's worked hard his whole life,building a family,putting food on the table,bustin' his ass everyday for you.
the man accomplished alot of things,and now after all the hard work he wants to have some fun. and you act like its a bad thing.you want someone to talk to,well tell him,hey dad we gotta set a time we gotta talk bout something.

My dad is a car dealer, not exactly blue collar, hard labor first of all. And he's worked for about 20 different dealerships over the last 15 years alone. Why? Because when something doesn't go the way he wants it to, he quits. He's a damn good salesman, but he's a baby too. He had a job with Saturn that paid him a salary and commission (life was real good then), but they promoted a guy he didn't like to manager so he quit. He had another good job like this but he left it for another job that paid less (no salary) because it gave him an extra day off every two weeks.

As for talking to him, we have, but he doesn't care. He still does whatever he wants without considering the effect on the family. He changes cars every few years because he's bored, and it sets us back a lot. We don't need a new car, we can't afford one, but he gets one without consulting my mom. Then my mom has to cut back on everything, such as the food he is putting on the table.
