Ares is good? ive heard bout it. i'm not particularly interested in download speeds (although i dont object fast programs, lol) cos i usually leave the comp on for the night so it can download in peace, but i wanna be able to find even the most obscure rap songs on it, thats what i hated bout soulseek really.

ill give it a try, tnx man :thumb:

The only thing I care about is anonymity. I know you live in the UK, but there, there's something to worry about: music owners coming after you. What do you recommend that has near-perfect anonymity, and how does it ensure anonymity?

I only download music from websites at this time because of this problem, and I have a hard time trusting P2P.

Ares is the best, it can find almost any song. But if u want to download big files, like full albums, complete discographies, videos and that stuff, use EMule. The only disadvantage is that it's too slow.

Use Ares or Limewire pro, PM PaulyPac, he will provide you with a link to download Limewire Pro for free.

I wouldn't say it's better than Ares, but in my opinion it's the second best out there, downloads are reasonably fast, im only using it because Ares stopped connecting and I havn't downloaded it again yet (i'm too lazy).

No p2p offers you perfect anonymity, or anything close really.

Check out Slycks' Guide to Anonymity.

ANtsP2P is another popular "anonymous" browser. You can find an article about it's anonymity here, and you can download it here.

There's also Blubster (info, download).

I've never used any of the p2ps, but I do run PeerGuardian (link in the first article).

P.S. This should really be in Tech Talk.
