The reason I said average is because Marilyn WAS average. In many ways she was the Paris Hilton of her day. She knew how to sell and market herself.
Not to mention that obviously what was considered attractive in MM's day isn't so much now, if she was of our generation she would be walking around looking like your Paris Hiltons etc.
I think Vivian Leigh (like stefan said) and Audrey Hepburn were both hotter than Marilyn.
And if you want to see an actress/model from that era, that absolutely pisses all over MM when it comes to looks......google Veronica Lake. Now she was fine.
