Soy milk. Use it like you did milk and your taste will adjust to it and un-adjust to milk within a few months. Trust me. Everyone I know who did this said they no longer have a taste for milk, and now like the taste of soy milk. Use the vanilla flavored one if you want. You will adjust to it.

Other good sources: broccoli, spinach, beans.

Jokerman you are my hero.

I had read most of that information before but you just conveyed it very succinctly. Straight to the point and no messing around.

I actually stopped drinking milk before I even stopped eating meat because I had read some of these things, specifically the pus information. I had seen the PETA 'Got Pus' campaign etc through my cousin as he is a PETA ambassador.

I first switched to soy milk and then to rice milk. I now drink rice milk on a daily basis. I eat a lot of spinach and beans for calcium as well, like Jokerman said.

Bobby - if what Jokerman wrote doesnt stop you drinking cow's milk straight away, you're crazy. As soon as I first read some of these things about 2 years ago, I never touched cow's milk again. It actually disturbs me even more so than meat eating does.

ya for real. tho if youre some sorta fatty you gotta watch what you eat . i dont think there is anything immoral with eating meat. maybe the way it's done, but when we were cavemen we still slaughtered that shit so we could eat it.

If you actually know what happens to those animals behind the scenes and you can still come up here and say "who cares?" you're a real piece of shit.
Why do you think there are so many problems in the world? Because of fucked up attitudes like yours.

"The greatness and morality of a nation must be judged by the way it treats its animals."
-Gandhi
Ok, your right. That was a dumb and ignornant thing to say. I'm not for animal cruelty, i love animals, but to be honest I just have too much to worry about already and at the end of the day I just wanna eat something that is going to be healthy and taste good. If I thought it was possible to stop then I would gladly join the fight but I don't think there's a hope in hell of winning that war.

Soy milk isn't the healthiest thing either. Drinking too much can cause problems, like kidney stones and low iron and zinc levels (soy contains a high amount of phytates which inhibit the absorption of zinc and iron, soy protein also inhibits absorption.)
