Living in the Rainforest

#1
I wish to live in the rainforest for a year (South America / Africa). I realize I have a lot of reading to do in regards to the habitat and all....is this truly possible?

At the moment, the only two obstacles I believe I may encounter is with the government of the country I wish to reside in as well as the native peoples to the land.

Any help please, I need a starting point.

you mean just setting up camp somewhere and living there? Good chance you'd die if you're not a professional survivalist. Poisonus bugs, plants, animals, diseases, parasites kill many people including the natives, EVERYTHING in the rainforest is created to kill things. Try different places like the canadian wild first, because if you can't take that you won't be able to survive in a rainforest.
