Are you sure it gets the new 7 speed auto box? 'Cause I remember when AMG built the CLS55, they couldn't pair the new 7-box to the supercharged AMG engine, because, well, the engine would rip it to bits, lol. Maybe they've been strengthening it though (with diamond presumably).
It for sure will have the 7-speed auto. The new torque specs of the new V-8 are within its limits, whereas the outgoing supercharged V-8 had a ridiculous mountain of it (516 lb.-ft). I remember reading that the 7-speed could handle between 480 and 500 lb.-ft.
Early reviews of the engine (about eight months ago, if I remember correctly) stated that the engine sounds very musclecar-ish. AutoWeek said that it is the angriest sounding V-8 they have ever heard.

That applied mostly to their cars that were produced in the mid to late 90s. Ironically, all of their cars were still big sellers. Those "low quality" problems have been addressed, and a lot of the current models as well as the upcoming models will show that.
THats my point. The 6 has presence, attitude. And i dislike its looks. The 5 is more distinguished, more of a gentlemans car, but with the same mind numbing performance.
