Ok the point is she can "claim" to be whatever she wants, Thats the point us "muslims" are trying to get at here. An the fact that we're tired of these so called muslims deficating on our religeon, she's in the same class as the guys who strap bombs to their chest an chop peoples heads off an claim to be "muslim" no, your far from it, your a wolf in sheeps clothing. i was watching the news and they said that there have been cases of terrorists planting bombs on their children...when they go through security, the guard wouldn't believe that a child was equipped and that there was some mistake, and just let the child through..mission accomplished, eh?
i also read in a newsweek that only 6% of cargo was scanned? hahaha, what makes you think that a United Arab emirates wont fly into the sears tower...does it have to american airlines like....american airlines and united? just keep that in mind when the next terror alert comes out....which should be soon....
also, keep in mind osama had many wives and 50+ children....saddam hussein had pornographic pictures and statues all over his palaces...surely these were muslim women modeling
according to a recent poll, the vast majority of the middle east, as well as the majority of pakistan was IN FAVOR of the taliban...al qaeda, and the attacks on the West....so that makes up the majority of the muslim population, doesnt it??? and dont tell me those people dont matter....cuz christianity has protestants and catholics and orthodox....none considers the other two "untrue" or that they "claim to be christian"......so there's something odd when you say that..
now keep in mind, im not typing this with the thoughts that all muslims are terrorists....i mean, all of them in america are scared shitless...some even deny their religion....so i guess if there were any muslims in america that felt that what was happening to america was right, im sure they're rather conservative now about their views...

I'll try to explain to you a few things. First of all, Islam has a set of rules and standards to be followed to be considered a Muslim. See, Judiaism states that one can't be a Jew unless his mom is Jewish. That means, one can't just embrace Judiaism out of no where.
With Islam, it's not like that, but there are Rules and regulations that a Muslim has to abide by to be considered a Muslim. Some are regarded as major sins and others as minor sins. The major being those that are critical to the belief system. I can't say I am a Muslim and believe in evolution at the same time. That is contridictory to the belief system. As with being a porn star, she can't say she's Muslim and go sell her self as a prostitute. That goes for those that kill in the name of Islam the innocent and say they are Muslims. When Islam explicitly says self defense is the only way of fighting a war. Agression is prohibited period.

Some of you Muslims take the piss sometimes. Why does everything have to be so extreme?
Case example - I know a famous girl singer who happens to be Muslim. She's from Norway and her name is Deeyah.
She has acted no different than any other female pop star, there was a video where part of her back was shown, she wasn't nude, she wasn't being controversial, she was just acting like any other girl.
Yet because of this, she receieved numerous DEATH THREATS, so much so that she had to move her entire family from Norway to the UK and proceeded to continue her career here. When she got here, she began working on a new album, and made another music video. In this video she stood up for the rights of female Muslims and spoke out against "Honour Killings" and the opression of females in Islam.
This video was playlisted on a number of channels including the popular British Asian music channel B4U (which incidentally has played a lot of my music videos too)
So get this. The fucking TV channel got death threats and was forced to pull the video.
She's a lovely girl and she shouldn't have to go everywhere with bodyguards and cancel shows because some people who simply happen to be the same religion can't move forward and recognize that this is the fucking 21st century. So many Muslims complain that you are being discriminated against and treated badly by the media, and of course there is truth in that, but the media are simply exagerating slightly. There's no smoke without fire, you are doing it to YOURSELVES.
And I'm speaking from personal experience, not only have I seen what they are doing to Deeyah, I've been in Finsbury Park and heard the extremists there condoning murder, terrorism and destruction of the Western World. Do I think every Muslim is like this? Of course not, I'm not that narrow minded. But theres enough like that for it to be a seriois problem.
Well anyway, Deeyah's doing really well now and has been working with T-Boz and Bonecrusher so she will have the last laugh.

Did Deeyah give herself the nickname "Muslim Madonna"? No, the media did. So that point is completely irrelevant. Are you saying Muslim girls can't be popstars? Why not? Is it not possible for a Muslim girl to speak her mind and still be proud of her faith? I believe it is and I believe Deeyah has done nothing wrong. If anything, Muslims should be proud of her for not conforming to ancient dusty traditions that don't belong in the 21st century.

Damn, if we review your entire life there'd be enough to make you a sinner and a non-muslim as well. Duke, you are a legend. You hit the nail right on the head with that post and I couldn't have said it better myself. Many Muslims have no concept of tolerance and have this holier than thou attitude. I feel that Deeyah and Sahara Knite are far better representatives of Islam than all the people that are quick to put them down and claim that "they aren't real muslims".

She was given that nickname and I said it was an oxymoron. it doesn't matter who gave it to her. the fact that she was given it shows that there must be something about her that has warranted her such a moniker. You act as if girls are being limited only, no, it is against the ideals of Islam for men and women to be popstars. That leaves plenty of room for both sexes to be poets, writers and express themselves using these method and speak their minds using these vehicles. there are loads of female writers expressing themselves using modest methods. though nobody limits or wants to limit the extent to which she takes her shamelesness. the only ONLY thing that anyone objected to in this thread was for these artists to link their activities to islam as a postive.
