So what if the child of a Muslim child sings a Christmas carol? I'm sure God rest ye Merry Gentlemen is a definite way to hellfire
Just the fact that Christmas charols are in celebration in the birth of Jesus. Who some christians believe is the son of God. Christmas charols also have lyrics in it stating "Jesus is the holy ghost" and "God is his father" blah blah blah.. This is obviously contradictory to Islamic beliefs and proclaiming God has a son is one of the major sins in Islams called 'Shirk'. so I dont think a Muslim child should be forced to sing a Christmas charol, nor should any Muslim parent encourage their children to sing it. But I do think ever Muslim, Chistian, Jew, or whatever parent should encourage knowledge about other religions and beliefs, and also instill values and morals so that they respect othe ppls beliefs. But I dont really see how singing Christmas charols does achieves anything other than assimilation into 'western'/'christian' culture so I personally wouldnt want my children to sing Christmas charols either (unless they come to a point in their life where they themselves believe in Christ).
As for being offended, nah that doesnt offend me, neither does anybody elses religious traditions... I just find it odd when I see ppl that dont believe in Christ celabrate Christmas, whether they're Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs, Athiest etc. doesnt matter, i just find it odd the whole year they talk about how Christmas is wrong, but they're the ones that are the most 'jolly' when Christmas comes around. Not everyone obviously just the ones that arent Christian but celebrate Christmas
