Got this from dubcnn board. Someone thought he heard Cube at around 4:52 (it's right after Dre says "West Coast" for the second time). Sounds like he says "shake it baby". For a better listen, use headphones.

It could be, since Cube was on the OG. What y'all think??

I don't think Dre ever recorded a solo. If he did then it resides at Dre's house and probably only got heard by a handful.

Wasn't this song going to be Dre's first big single from Aftermath, but then 2Pac came to Death Row and got on it?
I remember reading that somewhere, it might've been from XXL's issue about the making of All Eyez on Me. Basically it began as a Dr. Dre solo record that he intended to be released when he separated from Death Row and created Aftermath (obviously planning this months in advance), but since he was still connected to Death Row, Suge had control over the use of everybody's material, which is why California Love went to Pac and why Dre's beat for "No Diggity" with BLACKstreet was used for the OG version of "Toss It Up" even though they ended up changing it on Makaveli.

California Love was originally recorded as a Dr Dre solo with 3 verses according to that XXL special

Dre wanted to put it on his sequel to the Chronic (The Chronic 2) and when Pac came Suge said fuck that and gave it to pac, removing 2 Dre verses

Im pretty sure the article said Suge no longer has possession of the master, but I cant remember who has it
