Sam Rivers
the man is legendary, if you dont know his music and his history i suggest you take a few minutes away from listening to rap music and open yourself up to some great music.
he lives here in orlando and is friends with my music history teacher and the music history course director. we have been on the subject of jazz for the past few lectures so what better way to finish it off with a little Q&A with Sam Rivers. it was great. the man is 82 years old and is still full of life. he still plays, writes and composes. he was funny as hell. he had the whole class laughing our asses off. very strong man, he had phemonia 3 times in 2 months and is still here to talk about it.

i just had to brag
it was such a cool experience just to listen to him talk and meet a man with so much history working with greats like miles davis, jimi hendrix, billie holiday, quincy jones, dizzy gillespie, and the list goes on and on.
