How do you correctly punctuate a sentence when you end it with a smiley or any other members of the emoticon family.

do you finish like this

or maybe like this :p.

or even like this.

is the emoticon a sentence within itself?.

I would post another one but it only lets me post 4 ~;>_<;~

i think a smiley is the same as a full stop or a question mark, say if u used  that would be in place of the question mark

that whole sentence has inconsistent punctuation, so you didn't demonstrate much.

to respond to your question, Prize, as an emoticon is not in the dictionary and not part of any grammatical rules, there is no one correct way. hehehe, let me guess, you're thinking "does he think i didn't know this?" well yeah, that's actually what i thought so stfu, k?

Great question. I have a habit of putting the smiley before the sentence ends, before the period. In fact, I am obsessed with it being before the period.

You are not really putting an emphasis more so than you are portraying your emotional expressions with icons. Thus, it could go in it's own sentence. Like saying this.

I am mad. Don't talk to me.

Or, one can write the above sentence with and icon:

:fury:. Don't talk to me.
