How do you celebrate Christmas?

My family usually makes christmas lunch, sometimes for family, sometimes for friends. This year we are going to a restaurant, which is kind of a bummer for me coz I was looking forward to having something at home since I will have been away for 6 months.

It's pretty hot though so we cant have the traditional roast and all that, instead cold meats and salads which might sound funny to people in the Northern hemisphere. But we have a christmas tree and decorations and stuff. I like Christmas.

What about you, what kind of things do you do? if anything at all.

im Polish, so Xmas eve is like bigger than Xmas day! Eat a monster dinner, chill, go to church, come back and open presents. The next day we just chill with the family and eat like ballers.

xmas is the same every year. i get up late in the afternoon and open presents. well all two of them. same shit every year. socks and some kind of jeans or shirt and every time it is something i dont like or would never wear. i tell my mother every year "why do you do this? i dont like clothes unless i pick them out and every time you buy me clothes for presents you end up taking them back. how have you not learned your lesson after 12 years"

followed by me trying my best to avoid my moms side of the family. some times we go to my fathers mother and have dinner with her usually depending on if his sister or brother is trying to piss him off by making plans the very last minute, sort like how thanksgiving was.

now that i think about it i might be wasting my time driving 900 miles there and 900 miles back in a few weeks.

Sounds like my family...go to church xmas eve night. open gifts in the morning with immediate family which is my mom, brothers and sisters...go to grandparents and drink, eat, make fun of each other, reminisce about the past, get drunk and probably end up fighting. If you cram 50+ ppl in one house a fight is inevitable. Can't wait :thumb:

We do xmas eve with Mom, Dad, sister, nephew, aunt, uncle and cousin. We eat appetizers and open presents from them. Then on xmas day I do it with just immediate family. I'll wake up early and help my mom cook, I'll deep fry a turkey. We will eat lunch and then open presents.
