Roy jones, sugar ray leonard, tommy hearns, mike tyson, they all trained all there life but still got knocked out.

refering to Stefan's points about the boxers.-i like too add i don't think anyone has ever been able to knock out JAke La motta though, did anyone ever see the footage of the fight between him and Sugay ray. not the film, but the real fight, i never seen a man take such a beating standing up.

Knocked out by other people who have trained all their lives and have the technique and ability to deliver a punch correctly.
The fact is someone like Bruce Lee would have a higher chance of beating a 13stone person than say you. Martial arts (aside from the commercial, ceremonious shit you get nowadays) aims to close the physical advantage a larger opponent has by giving the smaller guy better technique and knowledge in dealing with certain attacks.
To test your theory of kung fu crap go pick a fight with a competant Kung fu fighter. After you get the shit kicked out of you ponder on the notion that they probably haven't trained to a level anywhere near as that of Bruce Lee. Yes he did a few films but he was a martial artirst first and foremost. People like Lee, Segal, Jackie Chan, Tony Jaa do films to make money - but that doesn't take away from the fact that they can actually fight in real life. They obviously can't take out 20 people with one strike, but they do possess the ability to effectively kick ass.

Im a big fight fan, I've got quite a lot of la mottas fights, the fight your talking about is "The st valentines day massare" All im trying to do is give an example of weight advantage, and for folks to relise that it dont matter who you are! if you get nailed your gonna be hurt, and if just about any 12 or 13 stone or over hits an 8 stone man clean then imo the little guy is getting KO'D!

yeah i understand where your coming from, and i respect your point your trying to get across, am not saying Bruce is was the hardest man in town, but i just like to add weight isnt everything, i do know some guys how are just 9 stone that take a beating like none other becos they been bullied so much by the kids and their own fathers that they take a bottle of their heads and they are still standing there like bloody Michael Myers. Some people i guess are just built for that, i guess their bodies get conditioned to take hits over the years. like kickboxers do when they conditioned their legs.
I know some small dudes can whip bigger guys, but in most cases they cant! obviously thats why you have weight divisions.

See i've been trying to find out what competitions that bruce actually entered and won! For all the fanatics in this thread can anyone give me his fight record? Was he fighting full contact? When did he retire from competition? Is there any footage of him fighting in competitions?
Another thing is, if bruce never made any movies we would'nt even be having this conversation! cuz he would have just been some other unknown kung fu dude.
there were no official competitions in the 70s where fight records were kept. There were no UFC or Pride Fighting Championships, there were only private competitions between schools. Bruce was in no school so he was in no competitions.
What I know is that he would fight full contact, in the Tao of Jeet Kun Do it shows techniques to fight and survive in any way possible, eye gouges, throat punches, crotch kicks and strikes to other soft spots would be used. I don't see WHY he would create Jeet Kun Do ,which was actually created when Bruce wanted to refine his fighting technique, to just use in movies. Why refine a punch to put more power into it when he wouldn't be punching people for real in movies?
