no i get what your saying, what i was trying to prove is that the basic response from people here is "Oh he or she was born gay" which is a myth thats no scientific proof at all which supports that. but there is proof that most of the time homosexulaity can be linked to some sort of tramatic event in that individuals life. a chromosome that makes you hetero i have no clue all i can say is from a scientific stand point its animal instinct which posses us to mate with the opposite sex. Like i said i do not condone or support homsexuality an yes i believe its wrong be what you will but dont shove it in my face an tell me to accept it as "normal" or else your some kinda homophobe is absurd. it is not the norm thats why its called "Alternative lifestyle" an no they shouldnt be granted the same right such as marriage, im not gonna pay for your health care when you contract hiv. its their life an who am i to judge but i will not condone it nor accept as a "norm". the whole point is if you let these people carry on with the masquerade of "We're born that way" which is completely false then next thing you'll know is the pedaphiles an rapists will make the same notion an ask for the same compromise. Nowadays when you have sex there is always a risk. Sure anal sex has a higher risk but fact remains there's always a risk. So basically anyone that has sex risks catching HIV.
You say you won't pay for the health care of a gay person because gay sex has a higher risk, right? So where exactly is the border? At 40% risk? 50% risk? 52,5532% risk? The only difference between homosexuals and heterosexuals is their sexual preference. Sexual orientation aside, they do the same basic things (I'm talking about normal, every day people). So sexual preference is what makes gay people not normal.
What does sexual preference have to do with rape and child molestation? Nothing.
Rape is not normal because one person is forced during the sexual act.
Child molestation is not normal because of the age difference and (mostly) the child is forced during the sexual act.

Basically they're close to determining a specific region in the X chromosome. They say a gene for homosexuality seemed to be maternally linked and found on the Xq28 stretch of the X chromosome.

Then Teck Neex says they fluctuate. Why do you think that is? It has nothing to do with them not being born gay. They fluctuate to try and conform to society's standards. It's not socially acceptable to be gay so they try and be with a woman (or man, whichever the case may be) to be socially acceptable, not because they don't know what they want. I believe they are born gay. I have a gay cousin and I knew she was gay from the beginning. Sure she dated guys when we were younger, maybe because she didn't want to be gay or maybe because she was trying to hide it, I don't know. But now, she could care less if people know she's gay. She lives with another woman and carries on a homosexual relationship with her. And she looks like a straight up man, always has been boyish.
99% of the time, you can look at someone and tell if they're gay. Have you ever known someone from childhood that turned out to be gay and you think back to when you were kids? How she looked and acted like a boy or how he was always real feminine acting? You see what I'm saying?
You do realize that argument doubtedly holds any water. It is a known fact there is no gay chromosome nor straight chromosome. There is a number of 46 chromosomes in total, scientists have the knowledge of every single chromosome, undoubtedly. If there was a sexual preference chromosome, we would have known about it 10 or more years ago, as a fact.
