Goodbye 140 GB

I just got a brand new external hard drive. The store I brought my damaged external hard drive (it got damaged when I turned off the computer without turning off the hard drive) gave me that brand new one because my old one is broken. 140 GB gone. Most of it was music, everything I've downloaded for at least 2 years. I'd say I had around 10,000 songs, everything perfectly organized, labeled and tagged (including producer name on several tracks). I'm always listening to music, it's one of the very few things I enjoy. Then I had a picture folder with every picture I've ever had on my computer. And some other random crap. That's all gone now :)

2005 fucking sucks. And it's only June :)

Lame. I lost 80 GB worth last year.

I never made no backups either. Lost a few rare video clips and tracks too. Nevermind though.

It's probably all recoverable if you take it to the right ppl. Hang on to it and one day, say 20 years from now, you get it recovered and it'll be like a time capsule of your ill-spent youth. "Hey, I remember that ass! That was one of my favs!"

Yeah I'm gonna back up my shit soon but once everything I had ever saved was on that extrenal harddisk and the harddisk fell and was damaged. Luckly only a few sectors were damaged which equaled to barely a gega. I did lose data, but I was still able to recover over 95% of my shit with no problem.

never had a HDD crash, but i can relate to what you say about the music. mines on 24/7 pretty much, its got tracks that ive downloaded over the past 7 or so years. So alot of memories there. But, i have always wanted to just wipe and start a fresh, but too scared because i know i'll regret it.
