I've been assuming this for the last 2-3 years. So I'm not that surprized. Looks like the ladies need to get their shit straightened out.

Deadly Ecosystem... In Your Pillow
http://www.livescience.com/humanbiology/051014_pillow_ecosystem.html

I'm about to burn my pillow and buy me a new one every 3 months and wash it every week... got me all paranoid and shit
"We know that pillows are inhabited by the house dust mite which eats fungi, and one theory is that the fungi are in turn using the house dust mites' feces as a major source of nitrogen and nutrition (along with human skin scales)," says study leader Ashley Woodcock at the University of Manchester. "There could therefore be a 'miniature ecosystem' at work inside our pillows."

I'm not disturbed. Our bodies are crawling with all kinds of bacteria. They can't do any harm.

Showering too often is a lot more hazardous than showering too little.

A warm hot soapy shower destroys your skin basically. Now our skin is pretty resilient and able to take a lot of damage, but if you shower more than once a day, you are doing more harm than good. Once a day is already pushing it theoretically. All the bacteria we (try) to wash away showering aren't really doing much harm to us. Except perhaps giving off a fragrant odour if your skin hasnt seen water in two weeks.
