I never thought I could sit and watch the Weather Channel for so long.

My heart's breaking, thinking of all of the people who won't be able to make it out. I hope this doesn't turn into the modern Pompeii.

Last year, we were joking around saying "We don't run from hurricanes, we drink them", but (maybe I've watched too much disaster-hungry news today) now I just don't know what's going to happen and I'm a tiny bit worried.

I've never been in a situation where I knew the next 24-48 hours could change my life.
God is with you :thumb:
if he wants you to live, you will. if not, then you're with him anyway so you cant lose
that goes for everyone in New Orleans

roaches, I hope you're outta there and in a safe place. May God have mercy on anyone who couldn't get out. This is gonna be a catastrophe for New Orleans, if there's anything left of it. :(
I feel really bad for y'all. I know how hard Hugo hit my state and Katrina is even bigger and y'all are below sea level. Hugo was devastating to us and I can't even begin imagine how devastating Katrina will be for y'all. I can say I know how y'all feel getting hit by a hurricane of this size but I certainly can't say I'll know how y'all will feel about the loss cause this one is surely gonna be way more catastrophic than Hugo was for us.
Good luck roaches and the people of New Orleans, my prayers are definately will y'all.

i'd find that very hard to believe
In terms of damage not casualties, 70% of New Orleans is below sea level after all so the almighty Atlantic Ocean could very well swallow the whole freakin city

You've gotta love the crazy news reporters who stand in 150mph+ winds and act like its all good
Crazy motherfuckers, lol.

I think that'd make a dope water park ride - they tether you to a pole and blast you with 120 mph winds while also spraying you down.

I'm glad the storm veered east. CBD, downtown, and NO east (that's where 9th Ward is, for you damn rap music listeners) got hit hardest and there definitely is going to be a lot of suffering there. Figures, huh? The poor get it worst.

Fucking Katrina smashed Ted's Frostop's giant root beer mug.

I ate there on a regular basis last year. Chili burgers, pancakes, onion rings...
