it's not completely unfathomable that this is real, but it's disgusting in every way possible. a statistically significant portion of the world's population (3-10% according to the dsm-iv) actually welcome injury because of the attention derived from it. we all know hypochondriacs (hypochondriasis) who every day have some new complaint, but they don't actually pursue real injury. people whlo actively seek fatal disease such as these typically express conduct disorders, oppositional defiant disorder, sexual masochism and sadism, and adjustment disorder. it's pretty disgusting to think that their cries for attention could result in potentially incurable strains of the virus spread to the rest of us. i couldn't imagine for the life of me what's attractive about withering away in agony for months and possibly years. if life is not what one seeks, there's better ways of quitting it.
my teacher today told the class this crazy story about an online forum. it was on a small forum and everyone posted there anonymously about their problems, it was a board dedicated to helping people with family problems and issues i think. well this one guy had been having really bad issues with his daughter with drugs and her lying. i guess it was really doing a number on him and the family and he just couldnt take it anymore. so the guy made a post about how he was thinking about killing his daughter, then came back and said he did it. he put gasoline all over the house, lit a match, then walked away from the house. he wrote in his post that he could hear his daughter screaming for help
so after he told the whole board about this only like 2 people out of the whole 100 or so on the board called the police to tell them about this and the man was arrested. of course the 2 that did call the police were called snitches.

Damn and I thought the people doing commercials saying they had genital herpes was bad. Even if they are making this shit up, if anybody found out who they were, nobody would go near them for fear that it might be true. But isn't a crime to do that where they live? It is here, you can get prison time for knowingly giving someone AIDS. They need to take all these people and pile them up and burn them.
You know the state I live in, if you're sentenced to prison and test positive for AIDS, they send you to this one certain prison. So like every prisoner there has AIDS. Imagine what it must be like to be a CO there.
