The North Face Jacket I want is £300. In America it's half price. Why do I keep having to pay inflated prices just because I have a better accent?

I would say have one shipped over, but import tax might rape you. If you got any family out there, or good friends, send them the money and get them to send it to you as a personal item (untagged so customs cant question it).

Well, we are so awesome that everything from America is more expensive here too. Like a 500$ computer suddenly goes for 800$ here. You know, we're too cool to pay less. VIP biatch.

masta: Hopefully now you see that Apple products are overpriced, but not THAT overpriced here in the States as they are in the rest of the world.

I talked to someone from Ghana and they told me a MacBook retailed for $4000 US there. After hearing your story about Poland and its prices, it didn't surprise me. He bought his MacBook Pro in Canada for a fourth of the price, give or take.

I'll mail it to you if you want Pitts.
Ive tried doing that before when I send stuff to my brother in London. The problem is that customs are a BITCH in the UK and if the package is worth more than $25 (I think) it might get checked and he'll have to pay a fee

Cheers, SiGh. I am not sure if I am going to buy it or not. Might be easier for everyone if I do, just to get it here.

I just want a warm jacket for winter, and liked this one, in grey. It looks better in real life than in pictures.

Where/when will you be wearing it? If you want to be taken seriously, you need a peacoat. This post is directed at Pitts only.

You will look like one of the rioters if you wear that

What are the jackets that look like peacoats but don't have those gay, large buttons? Looks like they're made from the same material, though. I always wanted one.

the buttons make the peacoat. no buttons and you look like a blue collar worker. unless you're wearing a trench coat type thing.

No, I want buttons, but the ones that button down "properly" and aren't oversized. Unless the one you linked to was a particular style where the buttons were oversized. Damnit, now I'm gonna have to go Google it and see.

Just when it's cold.

Yeah, I like the Pea Coats... But are they really warm. I don't want to be cold. My son plays football, and it will be cold on the side of the pitch.

Edit - This one for sure, isn't warm.

@coonie

I see. It's a matter of preference, I suppose. Both styles have been around for a long, long time. I think the peacoat with the buttons looks more modern and stylish but not in an overly "I'm a model and gay on the runway" manner as opposed to the plain wool coat that looks too plain.

Anyway, I don't have a peacoat. I've been meaning to buy one but good ones are upwards of $250-300 and it's not easy to find the right style and fit. One day, though.
