I've been treated for migraines for as long as I can remember.
I have been told it was due to my eyes...so I got my eyes checked.
Then it was my teeth...got my teeth checked.
Hormones...checked
Tension...saw a massage therapist
The foods I eat...changed my diet...no soda, nitrates?, cheese, meat...etc etc etc
I have checked everything...been on over 4 different medications to prevent and treat them.

I have been to the ER 3 times this week...and they finally figured out (hopefully) it's TMJ or Temporomandibular Joint Syndrome....

I'm still reading about it but I'm really pissed it has nothing to do with migraines...Headaches are only a symptom of TMJ

I know it's a trial and error type thing but anybody who knows how often I have headaches and how much they affect my life would know why I'm soooo pissed...:fury:

I have a headache right now, I've never felt closer to anyone.

I used to get really bad migraines, if you get them on the regular you have my sympathy :(

You're like me Keco.. I have severe migranes, which I get once a month. As a child I'd get them like 4-5 times a month. My dad is the same. They still haven't figured out why I get them. I'd rather put my head through a brick wall then have em. LOL.

I hope they're actually right about the TMJ

I've helped some people reduce or eliminate their migraines.

Here's my protocol:

Eliminate coffee from your life, as well as all other sources of caffeine. No chocolate. No colas. Caffeine is a trigger of migraines.

No wine, especially red wine.

No strong-flavored cheeses, like chedder, Swiss, etc. American and cottage cheese is okay.

No soy sauce, sardines, anchovies.

Take 60 mg of Vitamin B2 (riboflavin) per day. Take 400 mg magnesium per day. Take feverfew herb capsules. Take 3 mg melatonin before bed.

Take a course of biofeedback training. It will be a tool you can use to abort a headache at the start.

Do not take the prescription drug Fiorinal on a regular basis. And do not take prednisone or other steroids to prevent migraines.

Send me some pk's. Percocet 10's please.
They prescribe me vicodin for pain...and it doesn't help anymore. It makes me really groggy and mumble but doesn't take the pain away.

I called today to pay a bill...They have been telling me "You have no bill with us" but I got a notice from a collection agency. So the lady says "OHHHH maybe it's from radiology."

They failed to mention that er expenses, radiology, physician fees are all completely different. But on the credit report it said such-and-such hospital...How the fuck am I supposed to know it's the radiology dept...????:fury: I have to call every damn dept in the hospital and get seperate bills from each dept...? You got to be kidding???!!!

It's getting to the point where morphine doesn't even take the pain away it just makes me feel like a big retard...So I'm sitting there mumbling but my head still hurts. My ass is still sore from the shots.

This is sooo stupid. How can we be so rich and have piss poor medical coverage/insurance system in the whole world.

your right about the Insurance Keco.. but remember if your Rich you can go to the best Doctors. and if your poor.. your pretty much screwed. it sounds like the doctors just tossed you around to see how much money they can get out of your insurance

to talk about Migraines.. i was a victim of those back in the day. the main thing that was causing them was eating too much chocolate. i decided to quit cold turkey (it will be 8 years in August). i still get migraines on occassion. thats because of me not getting the right amount of sleep. if you get Migraines try taking Advil pills. those help me i take 1 an it knocks it out in a half hour.

you could also try putting a damp cold washcloth on your eyes an go lay down in bed an take a nap for an hour. that gets the blood pumping where you have your headache at.

I don't mean to laugh at you but HAHA...if it were only that easy.
They were giving me MORPHINE in the hospital and it only dulled the pain...I very highly doubt (actually I know) advil wouldn't help AT ALL...but thanx 4 the thought

Didn't really read through much of your thread or your post, second I saw the word "jaw" - I added one and one.

I suffer from neck pain - solution = braces >>> result, no more neck pain.

Every time somebody now tells me that they headaches or neck pain and have tried everything. I tell them, see a dentist or a specialist that knows about the jaw.
