I'll be 21 this year and i've never had the chickenpox before, they say its best to get the shit while you're young cuz it you can die from the shit as u get older but i was just curious are there any other older heads who never had the chicken pox or measles or any of that other shit before?

Ive had chicken pox before, but i also had shingles about 2 years ago, which is basically the same thing.. Its caused by the chicken pox virus that lies dormant in your body the 1st time you get it.. The doc said it awakens in people (usually senior citizens) when they're tired, run down, etc..

IT WAS THE WORST SHIT IVE EVER gone thru.. lasted about a week and a half.. and the whole time i felt like i was about to die.. I hardly remember much during that time though cuz my doc hooked me up with a 60 percosite perscription (i finished it in about 7-8 days) and two other medications... One was the same stuff they give to treat herpes (its in the herpes family) and the other was a anti-depressant cuz supposedly some people get depressed and wanna kill themselves cuz its that bad.. i didnt use any of those though cuz they made me feel weird...

On the plus side, usually it leaves scars, but i got lucky and all the boils healed up...

Shingles , baby! :thumb:

Had em when I was younger. Our next door neighbor got em and we (my bro and sis) hadn't had em so my mom made us be around him so we'd get em and we did lol We didn't all have em at the same time but we've all had em and my sister also got shingles when she was late teens or early 20's I think.
Yes we have immunizations for em but I think some people still get em even if they've been immunized. All of my kids have been immunized and none of em have had em yet, and I hope they won't because they're awful. I don't really remember having em but I have a chicken pox scar above my left eyebrow from em.
Have you had the immunization shot for em? Cause if you have, you may not need to worry. If you haven't, you still may never get em but you could get shingles or you may never get those either. Some people are just that lucky. If you have had the shot and you've been exposed to the virus, you may not get em but if you're ever exposed to it again, you could get em the second time because all the antibodies that fight the virus can get used up from the first exposure. That happened to me with rubella. I had the immunization when I was younger but when I had my first son and they did all the tests on me, they said I didn't have anymore antibodies for it so I must have been exposed to it at some point in my life so I had to get the shot again.
