These things should be updated more often. AEOM went over 10x platinum long ago, I think GH also reached diamond status and Makaveli is close or already reached it. But in order to have a certified diamond status you have to pay a certain amount of money and we all know how Amaru conducts their bussines. It's a damn shame! And it's the 10th anniversary this year! I think there are only five hip hop albums with the diamond status and if I'm not mistaken Shaggy has one! It's really a shame Amaru didn't do anything to certify two 2Pac albums diamond.
Does anyone know anything about the sales Makaveli reached, is it close to 10 million? I think I heard somwhere it's 9x platinum, just not sure if this is true.

I know it might be surpising that Makaveli didn't seem to sell as much even though it is highly regarded as a masterpiece is you have to understand Makaveli was a lot darker and not as commercial as the others(although it is false it was meant to be a straight-underground album).
Another thing is that for every album sold by GH or AEOM counts as 2 since they are double discs, so technically there are basically the same amount of peolpe buying the albums, but it is a little harder to sell a double album since it costs more, especailly to casual fans who just want to bump the singles, so in my mind, that is very impressive that Pac was able to do that.

While the OFFICIAL RIAA status of All Eyez on Me is 9X Platinum, I'm quite positive it has already reached diamond. It's just a matter of Amaru Records/the Estate paying the fees to have them re-count and update the current sales. However, I seriously doubt it being more than 12X Platinum by now at best. Makaveli is officially at 4X Platinum, and it's probably (and unofficially) 6X Platinum at best. But what is weird to me is that they haven't paid the fees yet. While it's not too important to know exactly how many copies each album has sold, it's not like it's that expensive for a record company to have the RIAA do it.

While it was been several years since the last update, don't automatically think that just because a certain amount of time has passed that All Eyez on Me is "at least 12X platinum." Have you seen any of those Pac albums on the Billboard 200 in the past few years? No. Typically the albums that are at the very bottom of the Billboard 200 are selling a thousand a week, so common sense would indicate that most older Pac albums are just moving a couple hundred albums a week AT MOST, and the numbers only dwindle with time. While I'm fairly certain the album has already sold more than 10 million copies, don't kid yourselves by thinking the album has hit any more than 12 million.
