99 saturn starting problems

#1
the other day i was just leaving home to go to work but my car wouldnt start,
the car would turn over and it sounds like it is going to start but it doesnt. took my starter to get tested and there is a problem with it so i get a new one but that doesnt solve anything. i keep getting the turning over then nothing.
what else could this be? what am i over looking?

More than 80% of the time, it's the battery that is the problem. That should be the first thing you check (since it's easy) and replace (since it's the least expensive replacement part that would potentially be the reason for the issue).

saturns are reliable. mine is a 95 SL2 and it runs great except for some problems that can be fixed by a simple tuneup that i gotta save money to do. its the 3rd saturn weve had in my family (my father had two, 92 and 94).

ot: if it doesnt wanna crank its the battery. best bet is take it to a mechanic. it can be the coil packs, or can even be resistance in the ignition system.

saturns are pretty shitty cars....life on 'em generally aren't more than 90-100k miles

sure:rolleyes:

weve had 3 saturns all with over 100k miles and still kicking. the build quality is cheap, but the cars run.

It really sounds like a battery problem although it's strange that your battery reads full. A few months ago I was in the parking lot with a friend and this happened to him and his battery, as he claimed, was brand new. I know it sounds basic, but have you tried jump-starting it? We did that, and it was rolling again.
