I know there is a mistake but I can't figure it out. I'm bad at math... can someone tell me how is that possible?

Well in an algebraic equation you almost always are looking to find what the letter equals.

1X=2X is really X=2X.

You can't just cancel out those Xs - at least, I've never seen it done.

And the fact that 1 cannot equal 2 confirms to me that this cancellation is impossible.

Even if you could cross out those brackets (you cant), you're left with x = x + x, which DOES NOT mean 1 = 2. x could be 0.

But like I said, you cant cancel the brackets like that. You cant simplfy x^2 - x^2 = x^2 - x^2 to x = x like you're trying to do. Why did you cross the brackets? Cause they are the same? Well in that case, x^2 - x^2 is the same to begin with so using your theory you could just cross both sides out and get 0. And in reality you'd simplify both sides first, and find that x^2 - x^2 = 0, so the answer to the whole problem is simply 0.

So in short, you're method and answer are wrong.

Heres something that will fuck with you thought, 2 + 2 = 5 for large enough instances of 2.

You stupid mothafuckas: you can't divide by zero
(x-x=0), cancelling the (x-x) factor is equivalent to dividing both sides by the factor...

ok here.. this is the first step, X^2 - X^2 = X ^2 - X^2

Now step two: x(x-x) = (x-x)*(x+x)
cross out the (x-x) and you are left with

1x = x+x which is 2x

1x = 2x cross the x's out and u get 1 = 2

i don't know lol...

^^ Dude, drop it, you're just making yourself look dumb now.

X^2 - X^2 = X ^2 - X^2
is 0 = 0

Case closed. Even if it wasnt, your mathematic methods are wrong.

Just stop it.
