US Cell Phone owners beware!!!! (Must Read)

#30
honestly, i don't know, the show i was watching was referring to America, but it more than likely is worldwide. If cellphone execs can make a few bucks by selling customer information, you know at least a few of them are gonna do it.

Whats really fucked up about this is, on the show i saw this on, the producer of the show volunteered to let them give his number to his website. Of course they were able to get his records and when he called his provider (Sprint) to let them know that this can be done, they told him there wasn't much they could do, and told him if he paid $20 they would send him a kit with forms to fill out and send back to Sprint to review his case. So in other words, he actually had to pay Sprint to get them to investigate phone record theft.

he is right, but all that stuff took knowledge and a lot of legwork to do. With this, all you need is a computer, access to the internet, someone's cell number and $100, so anyone can do it. You don't find it a threat to your privacy that anyone can see who you've been talking to?
thats all you needed before. in the 80's you could do it for free by hacking into the dmv. i had a teacher tell me abouth is days as a youth looking up peoples info.

ussearch.com (i think) has always let people look up personal info.

That is hacking. You need to know how to do that, not just anyone knows how to hack into computers. This requires no knowledge at all really, which is why it's much more dangerous

yes but like i said, there are sites like ussearch.com and many more like it that have been around for a few years. they let you get personal info with out having any personal knowledge of hacking. all you need is a credit card.
