How Would You React...

#1
Last night i was watchin the playoffs chillin and i getta phone call from this guy who says hes my brother...(hes my half brother that i was never told of) He saw my cuzin at a mall or whatever and she gave him my number (i dunno why she did that). So i get on aim an talk to my cuzin and shes sayin stuff like "oh hes always wanted a older brother" and stuff like that (i guess im a little older than him)..

Apparently he knows alot about me, but i dont know anything about him so it kinda tripped me out when he called sayin stuff like "u dont remember me?? aww man..." i dunno tho im kinda lost on the whole thing...i dunno what to say to him or anything i always knew of him but my dad doesnt ever mention him to me (he doesnt even know i know of him)..but wat would ur reaction be if something like that happened to u? would u be mad at your parents or wat?..

I don't think I'd be mad, just really surprised. My mother was in a similar situation a few years ago when a guy turned up and was her half-brother, she didn't seem mad or anything at all, just excited at the aspect of having a brother.

No, I would go and shoot my half brother.

On a serious note, I would be fine with it. Maybe my parents have their reasons for not telling me about him. You know. Ask until you are in the clear. And if you think you can be brother to him, do so. He did a lot to reach you. Show some gratitude.

Actually I just sort experianced the same thing. I just found out 3 weeks ago that I have a little brother. My older brother told me in a letter, and I don't think my father knows that I know but he will soon. When I found out though I wasn't upset or anything, I was actually excited because I always wanted a little brother since I was the youngest of 3 siblings. I think you're more upset in the manner you found out in, versus the fact that you have a brother. Don't worry homie, things will work out as long as you openly communicate with one another.

if you gonna be mad, be mad at the parent in question for not telling you, the last person you gotta be mad at is the dude. he really wanted to contact you, hook up.

i'd be mad too if i wasnt told. but not at the half brother, shit aint his fault

I would be a little upset and hurt as to why my parents hadn't told me, but then they may have been a good reason as to why they didn't

for anything he's a total stranger with half the type of blood thats in you so that's all it is,nothing more(atm).

the only thing that can really happen is you can be "friends",but there will never be that brotherly love, you know what i mean.

good luck bro.

I dont know why you parents didnt tell you about it, it must be a good reason, but you still have the right to know this and I would be mad as hell at my parents

you still havent answered me :(

On the real though, you should be happy, man.Like, I got 5 siblings, sometimes I wish I was an only child, but 3 days ago I got back from a 3 week stay in Canada with my parents and 3 siblings, which is like the other side of the world from I live, and we left the youngest 2 behind and it killed me, even though me and one of them aren't on good terms really, I abuse her most of the time lol, but I love her nontheless. It's always good to have siblings, bro. He's you're half brother genetically, he's not someone you could turn your back on.Just take him as a friend who you had just met and in the coming months/years you'll be best friends.Like you and you're best friends, and this one is you're half brother, you share blood, man.And it seems like he went through alot to contact you, you can tell that it's been on his mind for at least a while. And you're his old bro, it's your duty to be there for him, cause for all you know, he might be in this stage of his life when he needs an older brother or an adult to be there for him, open up to him, etc. He's family, homie.Don't just let him go.
