Polite bank robber waits to be arrested
BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - A polite bank robber was ordered evaluated at a Buffalo hospital after taking $50 and waiting for police to arrest him.
"Please give me $50 so I can go to jail," the 32-year-old man's note to a teller said. "No one will get hurt and I will wait for the police outside. Sorry for the inconvenience."
The teller complied and the man calmly waited in the lobby of the HSBC Bank branch to be arrested Wednesday, police said.
The man's name was not immediately released by police. The results of the evaluation were not available early Thursday.
